Explorers of the Lost Lab (Day 9 EA)

"I can shut it down, but I am not sure that will stop what is already happening. The immediacy seems to imply a process that is already critical," he replied looking at his options.

"I have not even gotten to the process of copying logs, been wrestling with this system."

OOC: Besides the warning can he get an idea of what is actually happening there? Powering some system? Meltdown? Self-destruct? Containment breach?

"Silas, do you think you could try copying the logs from here? I can help if you want to try," Eir indicated to the conn.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"It couldn't hurt to try" Silas replied after a moments thought. "We can do that and then check on whatever is going on down below if possible. "Could be there are some cameras or somethign we can activate while we are at it." He moved towardsone of the consoles. "Well, Pixie. Let's see what we can do."

"Well look for Green Obtuse, that should narrow things down," Byron retorted over the comm.

As they look around, Silas is able to find a terminal that seems to be functional, though he missed a little power-cable nearby that had been torn apart long ago but had now a little bit of feistiness in it from the sudden power surge now going through the ship - and it gave him a friendly love-zap (1 strain to Silas).

Zanja did find something that looked like a datapad, though it seemed like it might need to be recharged before it would respond to anything (threats).

From what Byron could see, the system seemed to consider Blue Taurus a priority of some sort, and Green Obtuse seemed to be a warning that the priority of the power was not being met. Perhaps Blue Taurus was instrumental for the ship's functions and life support, hence its warnings?

Silas managed to start up the terminal, and too was able to learn what Byron was discovering about Blue Taurus. He also found what seemed to be logs too, with the last entry being from nearly 300 years ago.

"Oh, looks like I got access to some logs." Silas murmured As he satrted to pull them up. Maybe he could find some information on Blue Taurus of Green Obtuse that wasn't a bunch of mystery wrods? Or at least some video logs of some sorts.

"Find anythign neat, Di?" He asked as he started to look through some of the latest ones. Hopefully then weren't password protected.

(OOC: On a side note is it possible to make the datapad work with Manipulate? I can make a damaged item or weapon work as normal by committign a force die, bot sure if that helps with a dead battery though.))

OOC: Yes, you can totally use Manipulate for that.

"I found this," Zanja held up the dead datapad,"but it's a brick till we can charge it up. Too bad we don't have Mir's fusion lantern."

With the device tucked under her arm, she wandered over to lean in for a look at Silas's control panel. "You got any idea what all these colors and symbols and things mean, yet?"

"Oh... I can probably make it work." Silas replied with a flash of a smile. "Or at least I think I can." He held out a hand. "Let me see it."

At the question he shriugged. "It's still Ryl to me. But maybe some of these logs will make sense of it?" He took a step away from the Console. "Want to see if you and Pixie can find somethign interesting while I get that thing working"

[Zanja]

"Sure." Zanja handed off the datapad. She leaned in to take a look at the logs, though it seemed likely Eir could make quicker work of them than she could.

This was more Silas' area of expertise, but Eir made a go of it, regardless.

With the datapad in hand, Silas concentrated on it. The force moving through him to activate the aged device even without it's battery. It was a rather strange feeling all things together, and left him tingling a bit. Or at least felt like he was tingling. Was this what a battery felt like?

((Commiting a force die to turn the datapad on.))

The logs seemed to indicate that this was a scouting ship, part of a greater project of the Gree. It was sometimes hard to tell because of the way Gree write, speak, and communicate using abstract forms and metaphors with geometry and colors, but from what Eir could see, they had encountered some sort of trouble in the atmosphere of Ilum - something about Blue Taurus interfering with functions - so they had abandoned ship. The last note records that they had send an emergency call to the other Gree ships to pick up their escape pods.

In Silas' magic hands, the datapad turned on miraculously as if he was a human battery. It seemed to be a Gree researcher's datapad.

"It loosk like this used to belong to a researcher." Silas mused as he started to look through the information contained on the datapad. "Could be there is something about Blue Taurus here." It would take a little bit of digging though.

There was a lot here, and most of the notes seemed to be categorized by worlds using their coordinates rather than official names. Seemed like the ship had done quite a journey before the trouble here. The sheer amount of information did make it difficult to narrow things down quickly.

What he could learn about Blue Taurus was that it seemed to be an A.I of some sort, part of the ship's core - or guarding the ship's core - the language is a little unclear.

SIlas forwned at it. "Blue Taurus seems to be some sort of A.i." He offeredafter a few long momtns. "One we might not want to let get fully awakened. "It's a bit hard to tell, but it seems like it's either part of the ships core. Or the A.i. that protects the ships core."

"So it might wake up all those droids outside."

[Byron Mik]

"Well that sounds like a bad situation, if you are ready I can cut the power but then we won't know what the status of Blue Taurus is," Byron responded over the comm.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Well, what does everyone think?" Silas looked towards the ladies. "Do we shut it all down and let the mystery remain or head on down?"

[Byron Mik]

"I am fine either way, but decide quickly the rest of you," he offered.

"I would see this through, but I bow to the decision of the majority."

[Zanja]

"I want to know what's going on." Zanja frowned. On the other hand, she didn't want to end up like the earlier researchers who had all disappeared... "If you cut the power, can we still get down there and just look?"
