Cautious Exploration (Day 8 Late Morning)

"We got glow rods, and we're all wearing warm stuff. We don't need all this just to explore the place." Zanja waved a hand around at the dead control panels. "C'mon, let's go check out the rest of it. We can always come back another time with a generator if you're still fired up to fix the power."

"Glow rods don't power computer systems or security," he said flatly at her response as she literally restated what he just said but he let it go.

"Look around, just be mindful of any surprises. Lot of droid pods we passed."

[Eir]

As nice as it would be if it were a few degrees warmer, Eir was beginning to wonder what they’d gotten themselves into. “I’m with you, Zanja. We’ve got a map and you seem to have a good handle on getting around.”

Byron headed back to the droid to pick over interesting pieces that make a shaft or hilt for a future lightsaber.

"Let's see..." Zanja compared her memory to the map on Eir's datapad. "Do we want to check out, uh, Grey Event? Blue Taurus? Black Bisector?" She''d try to pick out a spot that looked a bit more intriguing than dead maintenance consoles or grumpy droids and head over there.

"I mean, we could probably rig something from some of the droid power sources if we need to. You're right though, let's see what else is here."

"Maybe go to the blue Taurus?"

Byron could scrounge up a few bits and pieces that could be useful (30 credits worth of materials).

From what Zanja could see on the schematics, if she were to compare it to something that made more sense to them, Grey Event seemed to go to some kind of command-bridge, while Black Bisector seemed to be something resembling a work-room... Blue Taurus on the other hand seemed to be on the lowest level of the place; a rather large area that seemed completely locked off due to no power.

“Let’s check out Grey Event,” Eir pointed to the section on the map, there might be other interesting systems there.”

Byron put the pieces carefully in his backpack and then allowed the kids the run of the place while he sat and Meditated and reached out with Sense to feel the place.

Apart from the group he was with, there was no feeling of any lifeforce nearby. It would seem not even small animals had decided to make this place their home.

"Sure." But Zanja cast a side-eye at Byron before setting out. "I don't think splitting up in here is too smart, though. You coming?"

Eir frowned, “what are you doing? We aren’t just going to leave you here. There might be more of those droids.”

“Not sure if strange or not, but I can’t even sense small creatures or vermin… the sorts that make their home in civilized places. Interesting,” he said opening his eyes.

He rose to his feet with a sigh and added to Eir, “I was feeling the flows of the Force and life, not every danger is one we can see. Lead on to this, Grey Event.”

Eir rolled her eyes, that sounded more like the Byron she remembered.

[Zanja]

"Doesn't seem too weird to me." Zanja shrugged as she waved the group down one of the hallways and set off in the direction of the enigmatic 'Gray Event.' "This place is sealed up tight. Not a lot of wildlife on Ilum, either. The panthers and whatever else probably picked easier places to dig in."

She kept her footfalls light, so she'd be able to hear any more droids approaching. Well, unless everyone else made too much noise, anyway.

"Alright, let's get going." Silas agreed stepping into line behind Zanja. She was their scout after all. She could lead the way.

The small arkanian padded softly along as well, glancing about as they walked.

Grey Event was on the floor above, and with the elevators not moving, the group was forced to climb up the service ladders to reach the next floor. It was cold, but it was no challenge for them to overcome... and while they were all on guard, nothing leapt out to attack them.

The doors into Grey Event were closed, but could maybe be forced open?

"This will take a bit of doing." Silas murmured, he hadn't really brought the tools for this.

"Can anyone see anything we can use as a pry bar?" He asked, looking around himself.
