[Day 8 - MM] Master Orgus Explains it All

[Byron Mik]

“I don’t know,” he said thoughtfully.

“She is important to me, and if something happened to her I would be upset. I think what bothers me is the not knowing part, but if I knew she was moderately okay, then I would feel better. Mostly it is the unknown of the situation, I figured I would be fine the first few days and I was but then more days passed and I wondered maybe I would never see her again which should have been okay but that made me agitated and now slightly distracting.”

Byron finished, “So I guess the issue for me is, I was fine and then I got less fine with the situation as time passed, and now I am just lacking patience with everything.”

[Orgus Din]

"Yeah." Orgus said blandly, smiling. "That sounds about right."

"Well." He said, clapping his hands together. "Main thing is to get you back on track. What's done is done. You have a Sith girlfriend." He shook his head. "Can't say we encourage that, but you're old enough to make your own mistakes."

He smiled. "Just don't dwell on it. Focus on the here and now. Only a few days until you construct your lightsaber, you know. And believe me, you want a clear mind for that."

[Byron Mik]

Byron replied, “You seem far more forgiving on this subject than I expected… but I guess in a way you are right these are my choices and mistakes to make. But don’t you think that could make me a bad Jedi? Assuming I even complete the trial, or is being a good Jedi a work in progress?”

“I want to believe the latter, makes things make sense.”

“Does this go in my permanent record, Byron Mik, has Sith Girlfriend? Because we have not actually discussed our relationship… and that is probably too much information.”

[Orgus Din]

Orgus smiled. "Well, don't spread that around too much. But, well, we expect a certain number of mistakes. That's part of being sentient, after all."

He nodded. "And you have the right of it. Being a good Jedi is the work of a lifetime. How you deal with this may help to demonstrate that."

He sighed, leaning back a little. "Expect greater scrutiny. You would for any attachment of this sort, but especially a Sith. Some masters would order you to put an end to it, and I can't say they're entirely wrong, even if I think it's better this way." He gave Byron a sympathetic smile. "It won't be easy, you know. No matter how it turns out."

“Fair and expected, she isn’t recruiting me… and I have made it clear to her where my loyalties lie, and I don’t wish to change her either. It would probably be best to end it, but I am not there yet mentally, and it would just be lying to you and myself if I said I was,” he said honestly.

“I want to do the right thing, it’s really all I ever want to do, even if I have to break some rules to get there… doing the best for everyone is my goal. Even if say I didn’t become a Jedi, I would probably find a way to dedicate my life to serving other people maybe in the military or as a hard-boiled detective.”

Byron shrugged and said, “I think I feel better now, having had a chance to speak my mind.”

[Orgus Din]

"Good. To all of the above." Orgus gave him a nod. "It's important to be honest with us. But it's even more important to be honest with yourself. Sounds to me like you are."

He nodded. "Keep it up, Byron. You're doing fine."

[Byron Mik]

"Thank you for your time Master, I need to meditate on what we have discussed," he said thoughtfully.

[Orgus Din]

"Good." Orgus said, nodding. "I encourage that. Think about what's coming; don't dwell on that, either. But it's good to be mentally prepared to assemble your lightsaber."

Byron agreed with that and departed, his burdens lighter.
