"Bleep!" Mir muttered, his back turned to Eir.

“Way more often then you would think though usually not publicly,” he said softly adding the last bit louder for all to hear, “Because we do have an image of being disciplined and well mannered.”

[Eir]

“Being a Jedi is a very serious business, Tuulo,” Eir shot Byron a death glance, “but sometimes it’s okay to have a little bit of fun. You have to be careful not to hurt anyone’s feelings though, isn’t that right, Mir?” she prompted.

[Mir]

"Bloop!" Mir muttered to himself as his paws clutched the ladle. After a short moment he added. "Yes, that is correct. The jedi are good and kind. They look after others."

“Exactly, now eat up buddy,” he rose to his full height and searched around for anyone else to help.

“A small amount of good for others ripples out into the galaxy and can build more good, never forget that.”

[Faily]

Tuulo at least laughed a little at Mir's 'robotic' sounds.

"Jedi are good and kind," she nodded thoughtfully. "Can I be a Jedi too?"

The line was moving along even if Tuulo was still standing nearby to talk.

“It would depend on how sensitive you are to the Force, Tuulo. Even if you lack that you can still help others by providing for your community, helping those less fortunate or dedicating yourself to public service as a politician or soldier. Jedi are good and kind but we are only a small part of what makes the Galactic Republic a bastion of freedom,” he said kindly.

“It takes no ability to help others other than a willingness to try.”

[Eir]

Eir listened to Byron’s answer, the question had been well beyond her, and she now filed away his response, to be better prepared in the future.

Mir meanwhile tried to reach out, to feel how the child felt.

"What's the Force?" she asked, perplexed at the answer.

"What's the Force?" she asked, perplexed at the answer.

Byron considered the question carefully as it was essentially one of the great existential questions of the Jedi order. He finally found words and said, “The Force is an invisible connection between all things, organic or inorganic. These connections are subtle and some people can feel them, manipulate them and do utilize the Force to do impressive feats beyond what is considered normal.”

“But this connection is can be abused for evil, or respected for the good it can do. The Jedi try to use this Force to do good in the galaxy, to bring peace and understanding.”

He thought for a moment and then knelt down and pointed at the bowl of soup and added, “The ingredients in the soup are the people, the planets, and everything in the galaxy. The juice would be the Force, see how it touches everything, some more than others. That is like the force, it is all around us at all times, it is an essential part of the universe.”

He jostled the spoon to make small ripples, “Those ripples represent those of us who can feel the Force, even though it starts in one space, see how it ripples outward and affect the others, and it is why the Jedi must be careful in what they do. The Force is powerful and careless use of it can do more harm than good if not trained well.”

He rose and said, “I guess that got a bit deeper than expected but it’s a big question.”

[Mir]

While Byron talked, Mir tried to reach within. However that was easier said than done as the young jedi to be had to take a side step, accidentally stomping his own tail in the process.

[Faily]

"Hmm... so the galaxy is the soup, and that's people," she pointed to the various bits of veggies floating in the broth. Tuulo was trying to wrap her head around the idea of such abstract thoughts. "Is that why the Jedi alway serve soup when you come here?"

Meanwhile, Mir couldn't get a read on the child's thoughts, as if they were guarded or shrouded somehow... but should such things really deny his curiosity?

OOC: Dark side on the Force die means the ability fails to activate (as it needs Light side for you to activate). However, you may spend a Destiny point to use the Dark side of the Force to pry into her thoughts regardless, which means you convert the Dark side pip on the die to a Light side pip. This comes at a cost of earn 1 point of Conflict (which can potentially shift you on the scale of Light/Dark morality).

Mir gave up on his clever idea and instead nursed his tail in his paws. Mewssion failed.

"Of course, plus we just love soup, ask anyone," he said warmly.

[Eir]

Seeing Mir tread on his tail, the girl peered at him curiously, "are you okay? why don't you sit down for a minute and take a break, I can manage this for ten minutes."

[Mir]

"Ah, no, I'm fine." Mir replied, grimacing as he did so. "I can manage." he assured with an aura of pain around him.

[Eir]

"Are you sure? looks like it hurts pretty bad. I can take a look if you want," she offered. She wasn't sure how good her farghul anatomy was, but she was confident she couldn't make it any worse.

[Mir]

"Yes." Mir managed to smile as he replied, curling his tail within his robes to avoid hurting himself again. "It's just bruised." He turned his back to Eir, wiggling his tail within his robes to show her that he still could move it well.

[Eir]

"Okay," she conceded, it probably wasn't that bad and she figured it was more surprise than actual pain that had put Mir off-balance. Eir smiled warmly, pushing up on her tiptoes to hand a young bothan their meal.
