On a Mountain Side (Day 5 Mid Afternoon)

[Silas Myles Pearson]

That brought a smile to Silas' lips, it was good to see Pixie's plan actually succed. "Neat." It really rather was, and he watched the goats for a few moments, wondering if they would flee or stay where they are.

"I wonder if they see a lot of people up here?" The trail must get some use, but no one was on it as long as they were out here.

[Eir]

Other goats began bleating, turning into what might be described as a shouting match of sorts as. “They sound so grumpy, I wonder what they’re saying.” Looking about, Eir didn’t have much by way of survival skills, “someone’s been maintaining the trail, so, I dunno.”

"Maybe they are commenting on our lack of horns?" Silas teased, it was a good a guess as anything.

"True enough, si I imagine people have to come out here every few days at the very least. Less in the winter I'd think." He paused. "Do they even get a winter?"

[Eir]

“If they do, it must be pretty mild,” she tried to picture the orbital arrangement of Autatera around its two suns, “the planet’s orbits probably aren’t a pair of perfect circles, so unless they’re opposite each other,” Eir made a cross with her hands, “there’s going to be a point where the planet is further away from both suns, and a point where its closer.” There were also factors of the relative orbit speeds and axial tilts, but that was getting into territory she didn’t really have information on.

"So in all likelihood it's something more akin to fall on most worlds." Silas replied thoughtfully, looking away from the goats and to the mountains aroudnd them. "These mountains might even get snow that time of year." Likely not much but it was probably in the realm of possibility.

[Eir]

"Could do. There must be plenty of moisture for all this plant life, it would just need to get cold enough." Some of the goats had fallen quiet, but a few were still persistently bleating at each other.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Looks like they've lost entrance." Silas mused as the goats quieted down.

"Should we get started back? He added a moment later. "Don't want to be late for that Sith event right?"

[Eir]

"Sounds good to me," she cupped her hands around her mouth, calling out, "bye, goats, sorry we bothered you."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Bye, Goats" Silas called with a wave, they had been pretty cool after all, though he wished some of them had jumped.

Turning to Eir, he smiled. "I'd say race to the bottom, but I don't think either of us want to break a ankle."

[Eir]

"Besides, that's hardly fair, your legs are way longer than mine," she retorted playfully.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"That just gives me more limb to tangle up with the others." Silas replied with a self assured nod as he started down the path.

"Might make me a touch faster until then though."

[Eir]

She nodded, making her way steadily downwards, "what do you think of this meeting thing, anyway?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I dont know, I'm a bit wary of it honestly. I've never really met any Sith after all. Well, other then those yesterday."

"I'm really not sure what to expect from it." Which is why he planned to be cautious.

[Eir]

"I mean, we're at peace, I guess. I suppose we should at least try to be civil?" Eir was sure that the galaxy was still a long way from peaceful cohabitation, but civility was surely the first step.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Well, as Master Ogrus told me, one of the parts of the sith code is that peace is a lie." His lips curled into a wry smile.

"I can't believe they would abandon any part of that code, much in the way we dont abandon ours." He sighed. "Certainly we are at peace, but I cant think it will last."

[Eir]

"The Jedi Code has changed over time," she pointed out, "even so, I suppose there'll be a lot more conflicts before enough of the Empire comes around to a new way of thinking."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Somewhat, I suppose it just seems hard to make small changes to a statement like peace is a lie." He shook his head.

"I know I should be more accepting, it's just difficult."

[Eir]

"Small change doesn't have to mean to the belief, radical change of a few people counts, too." She looked down at her feet on the path before them, "but I understand." Eir wasn't the best adherent to the 'new' Code, and that might have influenced her thought process somewhat.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Perhaps." He offered Pixie a smille. "Personally I think it hasa little to do with the belief though."

"Peace is a lie... How would you change that? To make it so they would have a lasting peace with the republic?"

[Eir]

“I’d want to know why their Code came to say that. Like, we’re taught: there is no emotion, only peace. We taught that because we strive to be greater than our emotions and to not let them control us, not because we’re emotionless automatons.”

“The things we don’t do can be as telling as the things we do,” that line sounded like it had come almost verbatim from Master Chriala.
