[Day 7 - MM] Jedi Cop III: Sith on a Plane

"That mountain range would have a lot of places to hide... If we could figure out how he was transporting them, I suppose we could narrow down some of the destiations though." Silas paused for a few moments.

"Do you know if he was doing the kidnapping himself? Or did he employee an outside group for it?" That might hold a clue as well.

[Kerren Sek]

Kerren shifted uncomfortably as he sat down. "He's doing it himself. He's got... ways with the Force to make people act according to his will. I'd advise against going to seek out his hiding place - Destrus is quite powerful."

It would be a case for the masters to handle if the Sith lord was really responsible, so Silas gave a nod. No need to leap in over hsi head. Taking a few bites of his meal he paused thoughtfully.

"I suppose it was the Masters you were looking for a couple days ago then?" He asked after a moment. "Back at our hotel when we first arrived? Ordid I get that wrong/"

The Pureblood looked at Silas with an annoyed scowl as he put some of the pieces together. "Yes. I had already had my vision before you arrived, and when I heard there were Jedi on Auratera, I stole away for some time to see if I could find them."

"Well I wish we had known sooner, could have avoided all that posturing with Ares," Byron replied.

[Kerren Sek]

Kerren grunted, thought managed to keep himself from sneering. "It was not an easy decision to make, jedi. Even entertaining the thoughts of treason could have been my death. And let's not forget that the jedi have been rather zealous in their mission of eradicating my kind."

Silas could of tried to point out that the young man could of talked to him, but then again he could of tried talking to the sith too instead of being a sneaky spy. "Thanks." He offered the sith a smile. "I'd been a bit curious about that It's nice to have the mystery solved, and I suppose that is understandable. I was a bit wary of your intentions when I saw you there after all. Sorry if that made it harder for you to approach us."

"I suppose I only have one more question, if you don't mind answering... " He glanced to Byron. "Do you know if Lord Destrus has any dealing with the Ogon trading company? They seem to be slavers by trade."

“Some Jedi, I have no reason to eradicate anyone. Maybe punch a few gangsters, kick a few bullies but whole sale slaughter or genocide is not my way,” he replied.

Byron softened and added, "But you are right, betraying everything you have known is not something done lightly. It takes bravery and a strong sense that what you are doing is right even if the outcome seems uncertain and possibly suicidal. You have my respect for that alone.”

Byron listened to the last bit that Silas offered.

Kerren gave a hesitant, and grudgingly, nod of (tiny) respect to Byron for that answer. It was something the warrior could understand easier.

At Silas question, he had to give a small shake of his head. "It's not impossible. Like many Sith Lords, he keeps his fingers in many pies. I'm not aware of any deal between them, but he could easily have set one up without my knowing."

Well, that was a bit disappointing, but not all answers were readily apparent. Pulling out his datapad he beckoneed to Byron. "I pulled up a list of Ogon properties in the area earlier. "Wan't to help me sort through these and find any one's in the mountains?"

"Maybe we can find the blueprints for those and see if any would be good for clandestine experiments."

There seemed to be a couple of locations in the mountains. Areas that had been prospected for mining, as an as-of-yet untapped resource of Auratera. There were no blueprints yet.

"Well, there are a couple in the mountains..." Silas murmured quietly. "Though I don't know if any of these would be the right spot.... Do you think Lord Destrus would use a place that had high concentrations of thr force?"

"The Vergence might not be the only place on this planet like that after all."

[Kerren Sek]

"Hmm..." Kerren's ridged brows furrowed deeply as he chewed on his food. It took a few moments before he replied. "That would seem likely. Not even he would be foolish to tamper with the Vergence here at Acablas, it is too powerful, even for him. But somewhere weaker than that, that would certainly be of interest to someone like him."

"Well..." Silas hoped up from the table to go digging into his backpack, returning a few moments later with a book. Mountasins had rock, rocks had crystals? Maybe his book on crtstals could be useful. "Maybe we can pull up some satelite images or something?"

"Or survey reports from these mines? There may be something that indicates concentrations of the force. Crystals or something?" He added as he began to thumb through the volume.

"Sounds like a strong hypothesis to me," Byron agreed.

[Kerren Sek]

"Might want to give it a try now if you're going to hack some satellites," he looked up at the sky. "Been messy with those atmospheric disturbances."

OOC: Getting into the satellites will be much more challenging. Hard Difficulty with 2 setbacks for security measures, and I will throw a Destiny at it to upgrade.

"Probably right." Silas murmured thoughtfully, this was likely their only shot after all. With a frown of concentration he buckled down with the help of Byron. Maybe just maybe this would pan out.

Kerren watched the two work, eating his meal as if it were popcorn to watch the scene.

The masters would probably not be too pleased to know that Silas was hacking into satellites just willy-nilly, but lucky for him they weren't here right now.

It took a while to go through all of it, but they eventually found satellite images (as Auratera wasn't into having Google maps available otherwise) of the suggested dig sites. Only one of them seemed to have had recent activity, indicating that they had at least begun to set up mining operations there.
