(D0 A) Not a Master

[O'vala Aeser]

O'vala gazed at all of the statues of the great masters as she walked through the halls. She wondered what someone had to be up there. She wondered why her sister was not commemorated with a statue. She wondered if she'd ever have a statue.

The miralian wasn't the most perceptive sort, though. She could focus but only on one thing. Her failsafe was reflexes, but that wasn't always the best approach.

[Taime Jorel]

He wandered down the hall, hoping a look at the statues might help soothe him and help him get his head back in the game. She looked absorbed in what she was looking at, so he walked softly so as not to disturb her as he walked by.

[O'vala Aeser]

Perhaps a soft walk was not the wisest, depending on perspective. O'vala made her way towards Taime unwittingly, and when she finally did notice him, she was given quite the fright. "Oh woah woah woah. You're, uh, kind of a sneaky one, aren't you?"

[Taime Jorel]

He held up his hands, showing he meant no harm. "Sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you. You seemed absorbed."

[O'vala Aeser]

"No, no, it's fine, I guess. Whatever, just a bit surprising, is all! My goodness!" O'vala tapped her foot incessantly. "So, uh, what's going on?"

[Taime Jorel]

He looks confused for a brief moment. "Um. Just looking around. I've not seen this hall very often and thought...it might be useful before tomorrow. Are you here for the trials as well?"

[O'vala Aeser]

"Oh, yeah, I'm part of the trials. It'll be totally easy, I'm sure." By the tone of her voice, this was totally not true.

[Taime Jorel]

He scuffed his shoe against the floor. "Uhh, yeah. It'll be easy. No one's nervous at all."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Easy peasy. I mean, we've been training like our whole lives for this!"

[Taime Jorel]

He looked down at his feet. "Yeah...our whole lives. This is what our whole lives have come to."

He looks a little green around the edges as he stands there.

[O'vala Aeser]

"We're going to do great things to protect the galaxy and stuff. I don't think we could ask for a better future!"

[Taime Jorel]

He nods along. "Yeah...It'll be a lot of good, hard work. And it'll be worth it."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Yup." O'vala looked around and waved her arms back and forth. "You like, uh, holovids?"

[Taime Jorel]

He cocked his head at her, not really sure what was happening here. "Umm. Sure. I mean, I watch them sometimes. Do you?"

[O'vala Aeser]

"Yeah, I do! Uh, yeah, I guess everybody does. Huh." O'vala crossed her arms and looked away. "Um, what do you like to do that a lot of people don't? Well, not weird. Just, uh, a bit unique hobby, or something?"

[Taime Jorel]

His brain seemed to be a mass of nothing. It was impressive in an odd way. Chriala would probably see it as a meditative state. He just wanted it to end. "Uhh....I don't...really have hobbies. I just train. A lot."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Oh, well, training is good. Um, what sort of training? Or rather, what's your favorite part?"

[Taime Jorel]

Think Taime, think. "Umm. I really am enjoying lightsaber work right now? I'm not so good at it but I'm hoping I'll get better. What about you?"

[O'vala Aeser]

"Oh! I like lightsabers too! They go whoom whoom and are pretty. Oh and they make sense to me, though I'm still practicing my flips."

[Taime Jorel]

He cocks his head to the side. "Flips? You do...acrobatics?"
