[Day 5 - Mid Evening] Denizens of the Deep

[Esla Tor]

She looked around cautiously, trying to see if anyone could be listening in to their conversation. "In that case..don't you think it'll be dangerous? They might try to harm you or even worse."

[Byron Mik]

"I can handle it," he said seriously.

[Esla Tor]

"Of course..." She said on a deflated note, feeling slightly embarrassed that she might have been doubting him in anyway.

After a beat, she decided to speak up once more. "I'm sure the Sith are more scared of you than you are of them."

[Byron Mik]

"Maybe, but I am not here to be feared, just want them to not push their demands on the weak or try and manipulate people. Why would you think they are more scared of me, am I doing resting Ares face?" he joked.

[Esla Tor]

She shook her head at the question. "No...I guess it just seemed like you talk to them a lot from what I'm seeing. I imagine that they must be on their toes around you."

[Byron Mik]

"Eh I talk to them to let them know I am not intimidated by their presence. Plus the way I see it the more they learn about us... the more likely they won't just see us as the Jedi to be purged from the galaxy," he said honestly.

"I guess I just want to put a face to their enemy."

[Esla Tor]

Esla pursed her lip, "I guess we've put a face on them too..."

Prior to travelling, she hadn't really met a Sith before. She had thought that they were all from the Sith race but the Lady and the Lord certainly gave them other faces too. Unkind faces at that. "Do you think you've changed their opinions? Have you made new opinions about them?"

[Byron Mik]

“I don’t know, my opinion has… shifted, I still find them dangerous and even perhaps more worthy of being mindful around but they are also people. They did not start that way, just like us they had to learn to be Sith, and anything learned can be unlearned,” he said confidently.

[Esla Tor]

Esla narrowed her eyes, wondering if she was following along right. "...Do you think you can actually sway one of them away from the Sith side?"

[Byron Mik]

“Not in a day, but maybe over time… possibly but honestly even if it never comes to pass if we can at least build something of a bridge then it might be worth it, small steps,” he said with a shrug.

[Esla Tor]

"I would think that small steps are only good if you keep taking them...how likely are we to see these people again and will we even be able to talk to them when we do?"

[Byron Mik]

"I have no idea, just feel it is the right thing to do," he replied.

[Esla Tor]

"Right...you probably have good reasons for thinking that way," she said as she glanced out at the dark depths of the ocean once more, now seeing a group of luminous gelatinous jellyfish-like masses hover closely. "Having some idea about them is a start, at least."

[Byron Mik]

"I take it you don't agree," he replied kindly.

[Esla Tor]

Esla shrugged openly and let out a small sigh before speaking. "It's not like I agree but I don't disagree either. You're probably seeing something I'm not in these Sith. They don't seem particularly friendly or nice people. It makes more sense of them to be at odds with us and cooperate. I'm not against them wanting to but I just don't see it."

[Byron Mik]

"So because someone seems disagreeable we should not extend a hand of friendship? It is called making friends, making anything takes work, and yeah sometimes it does not workout but if we never try then where does that get us?" he responded.

[Esla Tor]

"No...It's not like that...As I said, you're probably seeing more than I do." She shook her head on the matter. "It's better to try than not. I guess I was just stating the obvious. It's just how I feel, even if it's not right."

[Byron Mik]

"Well what are your thoughts on this?" he asked.

[Esla Tor]

"I...don't know. I'm still trying to figure that out," she said as her gaze veer off toward to the side once more, where there was more water and less things to see on the viewing glass. "I just know that I don't really trust them very much but I haven't talked to them as much as you or the others have. Knight Corvin doesn't seem to like them very much either."

[Byron Mik]

"So is your lack of trust based on the few experiences or what you have been told," he asked.
