Byron tried to remain calm and said, "It's well known the Empire uses slaves, Mir. This won't end well we can't do anything about that right now. This is what the Sith want, they want us angry."

"We have to be better than that."

Ares stood silently on the other side of Mir, flanking him, either to protect him or to hold him back. He placed the platter of snakcs down the closest he could... an empty chair.

Mir made a mental list of people he wanted to stab. That suddenly included every Sith in existence and the Emperor - twice. Just in case. "Really? And we are at peace with them?" Mir sounded shocked - almost sorrowful.

Silas Myles Pearson wrote:When you are doing somethigng he wants you too. Seemed to be the part she left unsaid, not that he was going to say that out loud. "Mmm..." He offered instead. "I'll have to see if his considerate nature allows our schedules to conincide then."

There was a short pause before he continued. "But I should let you retun to mingling, Lady Malevaux. I wouldn't want to be accused of monopolizing your time."

The fan snapped shut. "Indeed, we both should. I suppose there are more people I should meet."

She turned to look at the brewing confrontation. "Oh my." She purred. "It seems as though you might have some trouble on your hands. I should leave you to attend to that, anyway." Her lips curled up, and her blue eyes almost seemed to glint as she watched the students square off.

Byron glanced to Ares and then back to Mir, "It's complicated Mir, but now is not the time to voice this grievance, I need you to keep it together. If you need space take it but this isn't the time."

Kerren sighed with disgust. "It seems I was wrong in thinking the Jedi too had high standards of their students."

"But yes, the Empire have slaves, my family likewise have slaves. As for this peace... I suppose some were getting worried about losing? Some would probably say it's better this way because of some nonsense about stopping war..." he shrugged, uncaring about the Farhgul's plight or anger.

"Not going to step in yourself then?" He asked in return with a raised eyebrow. "It might be poltically sound for you to play peacekeeper for this as well." He really didn't expect her too though.

Turning he favored Darscovina with a smile and a nod of his. "Until next we meet, Lady Malveaux." Silas said, before starting to move across the room.

Mir didn't need to stab anyone now. Stabbing could always happen later - in the deep of night. Glanced at the windows. So much for that here, though. How were you supposed to gank someone when you had no nights? He hissed and spat at Kerren's feet and then turned to leave.

Ares eyed Mir going away, keeping his eyes on him. "Yeah....y ou sith turned tail and sued for peace. Sued for a lie." He stepped closer, face to face to asithhole dude. He smiled grimly. "Don't worry... you're safe until there's peace. But when it ends...." he left it at that, letting his tone talk for him.

Kerren sneered, drawing himself to full height and was at eye-level with Ares. "Big words from someone who doesn't even yet have a lightsaber." His lips curled into a snarl. " You're making a mistake, jedi."

With that, the pureblood backed off and left the room.

"I don't need a lightsaber for the likes of you." He sneered back, then turned back to Byron and Mir.

"He's not worth it."

Mir blepped, his eyes squinted shut. "Big words, but when push comes to show, the bad guy runs with tail between his legs, yes-yes."

Master Orgus had watched closely, but hadn't intervened. Now that it seemed to be over, he sighed, letting his attention go elsewhere.

Lady Drascovina laughed softly, covering her mouth with one hand. She didn't like to see the Jedi win, but she did enjoy seeing Kerren lose.

"You two all right?" Silas asked of Ares and Mir as he arrived on the scene, things looked like they were under control but it was hard to say for certain. Either way he was quite happy to be away from the sith noble with the edged smile, maybe now he could relax a little?

Probably not.

"Yeah, fine." He glanced at Mir. "I'm fine." He clarified. "We just talked about some unpleasant topics. Like slavery."

Mir wrote:"No, but he has a lot to explain." Mir huffed at the human before turning back to the sith. "So prey tell me, is slavery common in the Empire? Do you have slaves?" farghul's arms hung by his side, his claws out.

We discussed this yesterday, Eir thought as the commotion rapidly escalated, you have the attention span of the fish you like so much. The girl remained mindful of what was happening between the two sides, though outwardly she appeared to be giving her attention to Lord Destrus, even after the pureblood stormed from the room.

Faily wrote:"Tradition is a factor," he mused with interest. "Another would be the perception of the Force. The will of the Force is a lie - it is however powerful in the hands of those who can bend it to create their own future. Don't you want to be the master of your own life?"

“I am master of my own life,” she answered simply, “the Will of the Force is an abstract, not a compulsion.” She had considered the subject of control over the Force would come up, she hadn’t expected the Darth to jump in with both feet. “History has shown again and again that the Force bends to no one’s hand, and that the price of that power is corruption. I cannot understand the arrogance that must be required to think that anything as massive as the Force could — or should — be controlled.”

Destrus briefly watched the scene with his apprentice unfold as if it was just an inevitable occurance, his attention was elsewhere. "Ah, but are you truly? How often does things happen beyond your control, causing you grief or hurt? How often have you failed where you should have succeeded, hm?" He seemed to find Eir's response very entertaining. "As for corruption - that is in the eye of the beholder?" he spread out his arms slightly as he spoke. "The Sith Emperor has bent the Force to his will and became immortal."

"Oh." Silas' lips formed a frown, slavery wasn't something he liked in the least. He had heard the Empire kept slaves though.

"Well, did you two want to stick around longer or get out of here? I'm pretty hungry."
