Something local onna stick (D4, MM, Bazaar)

[Mir]

"Yes. But what's to stop the guilders just buying more slaves?" Mir asked, having finally managed to clear one of his skewers. Now he was scanning for a trans bin to toss the stick into. Taking a small bite from the other fish he turned to Eir. "Revenge would be nice. But making sure it happens never again sounds even better."

[Eir]

Eir closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Finally, when she opened them, all she said was "don't be so quick to wish death on others."

[Mir]

"Why? They didn't seem to care about deaths of others." he waved his paws, taking a chomp of his fish and chewing it as he paused to think. "So, we want to protect the peace and people. Try to make sure that no-one suffers. You know, all that good stuff. But then." Mir pushed out his free paw. "We have people who'd have none of that. People who'd happily kill and hurt people. Would not the universe be safer place with fewer dead with these guys dead?"

[Eir]

"Those who seek death, find it," Eir recited. "Bringing more death into the galaxy isn't the answer, and if you don't let go of your vengeance, it will end up controlling you."

[Mir]

"Well, Bonewhisker's gonna catch me one day anyway." Mir shrugged, seeking for an another transh bin as he was licking his last skewer clean. He could still smell whatever fruit had been used for the sauce on his fur. "The idea is to bring less death to the universe by snikking those who'd kill and hurt people. If you see a uh, mandel-orio. A bad guy pointing a blaster at two people, after having gunned down two people. And you left your light saber home. So, would you blast his rear off the planet, or watch him execute two more living things? I mean, two lives against one?"

[Eir]

"Mir, don't be so reductive," she scolded gently, "there's a big difference between allowing your inaction to cause death, and actually going out and killing people. And there's plenty of steps to take before lightsabering someone in half is your only option. Use your brain, Mir, that's what it's for."

[Mir]

"Mew?" Mir asked, tad confused how he had been seductive. His ear's fluttered and he blushed beneath his fur. Then his brain caught up and sorted out what Eir had actually meant. Shrugging, Mir spread his paws. "Well, we sit here and eat fish. Guilders do as guilders do and people die. Even if I use my brain."

[Eir]

Eir hid her face in her palm. “Okay, so you have all the answers, smart cat, whatcha gonna do about it?” her tone was exasperated, but not cold.

[Mir]

"Become jedi." he nodded. "Make some friends. Then, go to the rim and figure things out." Mir seemed to think that this was a great plan.

[Eir]

Eir dropped the subject, sighing. She didn't understand why the Masters thought he was ready for the trials, when he clearly had unresolved issues, but that question was way above her pay grade, and she was content to let the Masters handle that.

[Mir]

And so Mir changed topic, pointing out an another strange looking alien, blissfully unaware that he himself was likely just as alien to many of the locals.
