Saber's are Hard (Day 4 Mid Afternoon DLH)

[Faily]

"Fine!" she hiccuped, and ended the call.

[O'vala Aeser]

"Kriffing kriff kriff," O'vala murmured after the line cut out. She put her commlink back into her pocket and stomped up to the saber. "What else do we need to do for this thing? It's taking so long!"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Ummmm...." He looked at Valee. "Just a few things, really. Like good vibes and a couple tweaks."

"Anything wrong?" He asked after a few moments of silence.

[O'vala Aeser]

"Oh no, everything is fine and dandy, like it always is." O'vala was not the best liar at all. She looked around sheepishly, wondering if Silas would press more.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"If you say so Valee." The young man replied with a small smile. Young ladies shouldn't kiss and tell, right?

He was super interested though...

[O'vala Aeser]

"People are just the worst sometimes! Ugh!" O'vala looked around at the workbench. "I don't even know what I'm doing now!"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

He had to blink at that. "Well, we are fixing your training saber so you can Shwoom Shwoom, with the rest if us."

"Other then that?" The young man smiled. "I'm not sure what you're doing either."

[O'vala Aeser]

O'vala grumbled incoherently to herself. "Stupid saber, stupid people." She poked at it and looked back up at Silas. "What do I need to do now?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Am I stupid too?" Silas asked casually as he continued his work. TH was pretty sure Valee wasn't referring to him, but she was being rather indisriminat eat the moment. "Um... Can you get me the sonic micrometer?" He asked in response to her question. It was getting to the fussy bits and it was best if he did those alone.

[O'vala Aeser]

"No, no, you're not. Just, ugh, some people are dumb. And my saber is stupid." O'vala looked around and picked up the micrometer. By now, she had to have recognized it. Maybe in a few weeks she would forget but not now.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"You're saber isn't stupid." Silas observed as he began to make a few tweaks on it. "It's just delicate, if you use it wrong it will break. Kinda like how you can break your hand if you punch something wrong."

He smiled up at Valee. "You use it alot too, so really it was bound to happen. Still, I'm sorry that some people are dumb."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Hm. But then how do Jedi not have it go all kersplat during times of war then?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

He wasn't quite certain what it was she meant to say, but he thought he got the jist of it. "There are other ways to protect youself then a lightsaber. Like you, you're good with your hands. so maybe it'd be a good idea to carry a blaster or something, just in case?"

[O'vala Aeser]

"Oh yeah, I got my little pistol from way back when." O'vala tilted her head. "Do you think it was irresponsible for my mom to give me a blaster as a child?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"No?" Was the answer after a few moments. "The galaxy is a dangerous place, and I'm sure your mom had only the best intentions."

"Its sad to say, but too many children are kidnapped and made slaves to call a parent irresponsible for arming a child."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Hm, I guess so." O'vala prodded the lightsaber. "Did I ever tell you anything about my mom?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"No, not really. I think you mentioned you had one at some point?" That was probably a little bit of sarcasm on his part.

"You also mentioned how busty your sister was." She had been commiserating at the time

[O'vala Aeser]

"Yup, my family. And I don't get to see either of them anymore." O'vala puffed her cheeks and sat down with her back against the bench. "Stupid galaxy."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I don't know if the galaxy has much to do with it..." He eyed valee for a moment.

"Unless you're referring to how your sister grew where you didn't." Silas finished his tone more then a little teasing.

"The glaxay might have something to do with that."

[O'vala Aeser]

"I'm talking about my sister dying," O'vala murmured. She lowered her head and, inadvertently, looked at her small chest. She put on a small smile and looked back up at Silas. "O'nera used to tell me that they hurt. But maybe the pain is worth it."
