She didn't recall anything about digging in the book she had read on Lightsaber crystals. Her attention did get drawn to a shovel though.

"Right," She said with a tinged of embarrassment as she glanced about. "...I thought we were probably going to build our own lightsabers if we get good enough."
However, thinking that they were going to do everything from scratch was probably a tad silly. She didn't exactly feel like mining and smelting metals either. Maybe the Jedi of old had to do just that with their swords.

"Do we build our lightsabers now or was that what knights did?" O'vala crossed her arms and thought really hard on this. She couldn't really remember. "Wait, wouldn't Ilum be a hotspot for people wanting crystals? Like Sith too?"

"I think there would be some things they would expect us to do on own, to make us know that we've earned it," she hypothesized because handing out crystal or lightsabers would be far too easy. It doesn't seem like something the masters would do.
"Is Ilum the only place to get the crystals?" She asked carefully, wondering if that might be a dumb question. Did the Sith have their own planet. Wouldn't such a place be surrounded with warships to deny the other, in that case?
