Eir winced, "ah, that was not me," she shook her head a little. "A little enthusiasm doesn't hurt, so long as you don't let it turn into recklessness."

Esla Tor wrote:Seeing as everyone as pairing up together, it seemed like Esla should follow suit with the exercises so that she wouldn't be swinging at air all day. She walked over to Zanja and gave her a small bow, wondering if she was also looking for a partner potentially?
"Wanna have a go?" Zanja arched her eyebrows at Esla. "Promise I won't fight dirty."

“Discipline and recklessness are two sides of a coin. A good fighter knows when to be disciplined and when to cut loose and be reckless, there is no hard and fast rule for either. For now though you both should focus on making the basic stances second nature.”
Byron added, “Firm stance, shoulder width apart, but loose in the step be ready to give and gain ground. Your feet are not roots, they are meant to move, never be idle but also be patient.”

Esla gave Zanja a befuddled blink when she mentioned about fighting dirty. She looked beside her to see if that was something that was allowed here, or if she perhaps picked the wrong partner for the exercise. After a moment of hesitation, she nodded twice and drew out her practice sabre.

Taime's shyer nature had kept him from finding a partner quickly and now he stood alone. But he was determined not to make it awkward. Walking over to a pair of students, he said, "Do you mind if I watch while you practice?"

Eir scowled at Byron, she was having too nice a day for the older boy's antics. Turning to the zeltron girl, "are you okay with two tutors, or would you prefer one-on-one?"

Byron looked at the young woman quizzically, he was here as an assistant teacher, offering all the students the benefit of his experience.

"Woah," the Zeltron held up her hands. "If you two got some lover's quarrel going on or something, leave me out of it. I got enough on my plate."

Increasingly annoyed, but determined not to spoil her mood, Eir smiled, "if you want to talk about it, let me know, but seeing as we're all here to help out, it might be more beneficial if we spread ourselves around a bit." Perhaps Byron had simply forgotten that Eir was not here to take a class, but to help as well.

Byron shrugged and said, “Well a Jedi should not have such desires, and also way too young…”
He chuckled lightly and then moved on to help other students.

Zanja flicked her own saber to life and cocked her head in a come at me gesture.

Byron wandered over to see how Zanja and Esla handled themselves.

Of course he’d take the comment literally, but Eir still drove home his point home by poking her tongue out at his back. Maturity didn’t look that fun, anyway, if Byron was anything to go by.

Mir wrote:"Eh, I got you, game-over man, game over." Mir quipped. "Now again. You attack again, or should I?"
Ares smiled. "True. Just too enthusiastic, I guess. Go ahead, attack. Let's see how it works for me."

Seeing as she knew little of her opponent, she wasn't going to take such a gesture as an open invitation to go all out. She took a few cautious steps forward with her sabre held in one hand on the defensive. While not going for any sort of aggressive strikes, she did swing her weapon in quick slashes to test her opponent.

She watched Eir with a raised eyebrow, then did a dramatic eyeroll. "Sheesh, how old are you anyway? Sticking your tongue out like a kid?"

"Right-o!" Mir grabbed his saber and moved very slowly towards Ares in a very half-hearted attempt to stab him. Had the attempt had any less heart, it would have been heartless. Anyhow, this presented the human with a dilemma. The wrist he was supposed to grab was hiding behind a saber.

Taime was keeping an eye on that situation, but he'd decided to try to ignore Byron pulling age on everyone. Just because he was a few years older, he acted like the boss. Hopefully Eir wouldn't get too upset at him.
Finding himself ignored by the pair who were intent on practicing, he wandered over to Mir and Ares, watching their battle.

Seeing the brooding young man he waved him over, “Taime, show me what you have learned. It would be good for the fellow students to see a skilled student in action.”

Zanja responded in classic Shien defense-as-offense fashion, trying to turn deflected blows into openings to strike back. She lacked the subtlety of a truly expert practitioner, though; since Esla was the more skilled of the two, she would probably have the advantage.
