Esla glanced behind her to where the Senate was found earlier, not too far away from where they first met. Politics and other adult matters wasn't even something she had thought about yet. Why would there be disagreements? "Maybe everyone just wants what's best for the galaxy?"

Byron smiled and said, “Alright, let’s look at the menu now when I look at this I am going to order the soup which you may like too… but let’s say we both have to agree to order the same thing. Let’s say for a thought experiment I want the bantha-steak with simmered vegetables and a large heaping of valgussian curry. It’s an acquired taste, but you are still set on the soup. We both want something that is generally right but now we have to find a way to compromise so we both get something we want and yet not everything we want.”
“It’s kind of like that but with well where to send money or aid for troubled worlds, or which planets get funding for public works and which will go without. Or maybe to allow refugees to colonize a sector as opposed to another world that may have rights via some ancient contract or treaty. In there,” he pointed at the Senate building, “the arguments are constant and not everyone is there to advocate for the people, or what is best for everyone.”
“Heh, but really I am no politician.”

Esla gave a few small nods as she followed along with the analogy given to her. Admittedly, it probably made her more hungry as they were waiting for their food to arrive. She might have done the mistake of wondering why everyone could just have everything if it weren't for her upbringing.
She sighed, "If the Jedi could truly do everything, I guess there wouldn't be disagreements or arguments."

"People need room to make mistakes and grow, we can't do everything for others," he said honestly.

"That's right," she said in agreement as she allowed the sentiment to sink in. Then again, what did she know about keeping order, she was just a child at the moment. "I guess the same could be said for us but we will have to do things for ourselves, won't we?"

"That is what the Trials are for, to push us to find our limits and exceed them or know when we need help. Or at least I assume so," he said.

She let out a small sigh. "I don't think that they will tell us much about the Trials on purpose...it wouldn't be much of a Trial if we were prepared for everything."

"I bet it is the kind of trial that even if we knew it still would not make much of a difference," he offered.

Esla looked down at her hands before looking back at Byron with an idea in her head. "You don't think that maybe it would be a very personal Trial. They would make it different for everyone?"

"It is possible, perhaps we have to deal with a vergence... which can often be a very personal experience," he offered.

Esla shook her head from the anxiety that threatened to creep up on her. "Sorry for all of the questions...I just wish that I was better prepared somehow for what lays ahead. Everything seemed easier until now."

"No need to apologize, questions are the best thing to have right now," he said honestly.

"...Do you have any questions on your mind at the moment?" She asked curiously, not that she would be able to answer them but he seemed fairly confident by comparison.

Esla gave Byron a small smile in response. Perhaps accepting that she won't find all of the answers to her question, she turned quiet once more as their ordered food arrived.
