Foolish Youth, Episode II: Attack of the Younglings [D2 LM]

Zanja drifted after Zizzy toward the games, keeping an eye on all three of her comrades. She picked one of the simpler gambling machines with a good vantage point around the cantina's interior and fed it a credit chit, trying to look absorbed by the game while in fact she was anything but.

As Zanja started up a game on one of the slot-machines, the sound from it sparks Zizzy's attention. It's not quite the right sound, but similar, but then inspiration strikes - it must've been from a roulette table, with the white ball making a sound against the tiled numbers!

But it's not something they seem to have out here for anyone to use. It must be a backroom kind of deal. You're sure of it.

Zizzy casually flicked on her comm as she took a closer look at one of the slot machines. "A roulette table, that's what the force showed me. I don't see one here though."She leaned up against the machine as if she owned the place. "They must have a back room. I think that's where Reg is."

Figuring that the bouncer had seen someone, Mir shuffled towards the bard stand. Keeping his cowl over his ears he glanced at the board and ordered a drink (that was what bad people did in these places, right?). He chose to ask for the cheapest drink on the menu, somewhat afraid that it would taste foul. However he figured that as a paying customer the barkeep would pay more attention to him. And so, when Mir was handed his drink he repeated his question. Maybe the bartender had noticed a someone way too small enter the establishment? He also let out a charming mew at the end of his question to make himself seem as innocent and honest as possible. Everyone liked cats, right?

A watered down beer is passed to Mir, and it's not as bad as he feared, but it's still a bit foul with an unpleasant aftertaste of beer.

Barkeep fixed him with a sceptical look for a good solid minute before responding. "One of your own, you say? Got some bad news for you then, kid; some of the Suns took him in to see the Boss this morning... hmmm... maybe it was around 6? It was when most people were leaving, that I remember. Think your pal must've annoyed the Suns to warrant that sort of treatment."

Mir nods at the barkeep, murmuring his thanks while leaving a credit as a tip before taking of with his drink, sipping as he walks towards where he last saw Zizzy. Grimacing as he takes a sip, the young jedi-to-be locates the rather exotic Mikkian and taps her shoulder to get her attention. When she notices him he leans closer to inform her of what he had learnt out and asks her to talk to the others. Mir squints his eyes and hopes that his natural charms would be enough to persuade Zizzy - that way he wouldn't need to talk to the horny girl nor the scary human.

Silas really needed more tools, why didnt he have a neat slicing kit? Why did he forget to bring his tool kit? Well, he'd have to work our something if he was going to get into theirs comms.

Rummaging through his pockets gmhe took a inventory of what he had before getting to work. Eventually putting together something that should help. Even if his comm went missing in the process.

Zizzy smiled roguishly, it was part of the persona she had decided to adopt. "Nice work! Sure thing little buddy." With a wink she strutted over to Zanja and then Silas, giving them the details and making it look like she was just talking to her gang. She wasn't sure how they were going to get Reg out without some sort of big...distraction. That got her thinking. What they really needed was to get the folks in the back out. Like, out of the building.

OOC: Is there an alarm system? Like, smoke alarms or something?

There doesn't seem to be any smoke alarms or sprinkler system in here... maybe the gang ripped it out one night when it triggered from too much smoking? Security alarms seemed likely to be on the door to the backroom - or on the game-machines.

"Might be a challenge to draw them out somehow... unless you guys can get into their systems," Farissa spoke quietly over the comms to them. "But now we know he's there. For now."

As the others worked, Silas did what he could to access their systems. A attempt that was for the moment futile, but at least no one had seemed to notice.

"Maybe I can get a look back there, at least," Zanja muttered into her comlink. There was a door over there that looked likely as the entrance to a back room for management and special customers. Zanja slouched over to a different game further in that direction to take a closer peek.

Could she casually slip through? Wait till nobody was looking, or pretend to be looking for the refresher?

Silas didn't manage to get into their systems, but his shenanigans did make one of the slot-machines blare as if someone had tampered with it. Which did draw the attention of the few bleary-eyed patrons in the cantina, as well as Barkeep.

It was an opportunity for Zanja, if she wanted to dare it.

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy wasn't 100% sure what she was doing, but she had seen a lot of Veera Hawke. Strutting up to the bar she posed enticingly, and began Operation Distract the Males.

"Hey. What's a girl gotta do to get herself a drink around here? And maybe a gentleman to show her which of those machines actually pays out?"

She thew a thumb over her shoulder to roughly indicate the gaming machines. A flirtaceous smile crossed her features that was straight out of Episode 34: Everybody Loves Veera.

"Woah, lady," a Devaronian who was probably 10 years older than Zizzy grinned, "no need to go and break them!" He and his group of friends all laughed, as they assumed Zizzy had something to do with why one of the machines had starting wailing. And they were laughing even more as Barkeep went over to the machine to bring it back into submission.

"Why play on those things? It's a drain of money, even if they aren't rigged. Why don't you come sit with us instead?"

[Zizzy Roosh]

Rolling with it she laughed too, brushing back a few stray tendrils and hoping she had drawn enough attention away to give Zanja an opportunity. "I guess you're right. It's a shame that's all they've got though, sometimes it's fun to blow a few creds on a game. If they weren't your creds in the first place, am I right boys?"

Episode 34 was like a goldmine. She made a mental note to check up on who had written the dialogue for that one.

The noisy game machines and Zizzy's... is she doing Vera Hawke??? Zanja shook her head slightly to clear the distraction--provided a small opening, all Zanja needed... she hoped. Stepping away from her game, she skulked along the wall and slipped through the back door without attracting notice. At least, not immediately.

Zanja's nerves prickled all the way to the tips of her horns as she entered the restricted area of the cantina. If she were a real Knight like Farissa, she'd be able to reach out through the Force and seek for Reg right now. She actually tried it, a little... but all she got was generalized sense that she's in a place, with people. So helpful. And now wasn't the time for meditation practice. She'd just have to seek with her eyes, ears, and nose instead, like a normal person.

"Always best to not spend your own money, yeah," he gave her a toothy grin. "Heya, Barkeep. Bring something for us and the lady!"

Barkeep responded by sighing and muttering something about useless kids these days. The Devoronian patted the seat on the couch, giving room for Zizzy to sit down.

Meanwhile, Zanja managed to slip inside the door to the backroom, leading her into a hallway continuing to her right and her left. A brief look up, and she sees a security camera. Good thing she looked good in this outfit?

Di was disappeared, Meli was bust flirting with some horny guy, and Napz was doing cat things. Mainly looking adorable and praying upon the soft spot most hardened criminals had for cute fuzzy things it seemed.

So Silas was left to his own devices, and with little else to do he headed towards the slot machines. Might as well do something as he waited. Well, other then keep his eyes open for trouble.

The Force was not something easily applicable to machinery, as it tended to be more connected to living things. He felt for a brief moment the amount of electricity powering the nearest slot machine, kind of like that feeling when the hairs on your arm stand up because of static electricity.

Maybe there was some way to learn to use the Force to manipulate inanimate objects other than just using telekinesis to move them?
