[D6 LM] The Colour Purple
Lord Destrus had generously made the offer for the Jedi to visit the Sith Temple, and Eir had enjoyed rambling through the Jedi temple with the others, it was a no-brainer that she wanted to see the other side. Her meeting with Orgus and Chriala had given her a lot a question, and very few answers, answers that may be a long time coming. Still, there was only one cure for curiosity: knowledge.
Orgus had mentioned that he’d accompany any students to the Sith Temple, if they wanted to visit, but Eir also reached out to Master Chriala, the miralukan’s Sight could perhaps see through Lord Destrus’ mask.

"Ah, welcome," the Sith lord stepped out from the pyramid, his arms spread wide. The posture seemed to further enhance his long wiry limbs that were robed in black.
"It is a pleasure to see you all, again." One again he seemed to attempt sounding warm and friendly, but it just seemed cold.

Orgus and Chriala were both there. Orgus, his expression polite but stoically set, his eyes watchful. Chriala... well, it was always hard to tell what she was thinking, or looking at.
"Lord Destrus." Orgus nodded. Chriala just smiled.

"Allow me to show you through the pyramid. It is a modest building, compared to the more imposing ones found on Korriban or Dromund Kaas, but it aesthetics might be of interest to such bright young students."

Despite Orgus and Chriala's warnings, Eir was fascinated, and that showed in her glowing eyes, "lead on," she suggested, without even a glance back at the Masters for confirmation.

Re: [D6 LM] The Colour Purple

The entrance to the temple was large and open, and Destrus led the group inside to a large chamber, with corridors branching off. His stride spoke of calm confidence as if he was not worried in the least of bringing two jedi (or two and a half jedi of factoring in Eir) into the Sith's place of power on the planet. In the center of the chamber there seemed to have been some sort of edifice of black stone, but was now only rubble.
"It is quite amusing in a way... this place might be as old as some of the first Sith, that is the organization rather than the species, and we same could probaby be said for the Jedi temple here as well. Such an old place, that we have no connection to other than its names, and yet we return to it as if it is somehow our cradle of origin," he half-mused, half-explained as he led them into the chamber. "This place does not even have a strong tradition for the Sith. Too many find its heavy strength with the Light side to be... uninteresting. Would you not say that is a rather close-minded approach?"

Eri approached the rubble, trying to picture what it had looked like before it fell, "if there was really no connection beyond a name, then this place would have been forgotten," one might wonder if she was being contrary on purpose. She turned her glowing eyes on the purple mask, "uninteresting? What an odd word to use. If it's power you crave, you'd be interested in all of its sources, no?"

"Precisely so... alas, some of my kin are sometimes a bit too short-sighted. My own master among them, but oh well, his opinion matters little since it ultimately led to his own death." There was barely any hint of dismay to his tone. "Sith, Jedi... these are merely names we assign to groups but has so little bearing on the power of the Force."
The masked face turned to look up at a sun-window in the ceiling.

"Oh, how did he die, then?" she asked. Eir wasn't too sure about the whole name thing, she was fairly certain there was a whole Light side/Dark side thing going on there, but if Lord Destrus was so interested in utilising both sides of the Force, then maybe that would make a third, unnamed category?

"What we choose to call ourselves has meaning." Chriala said, her head angled somewhere off to the side. "It is the face we present for others, but it shapes the face we present for ourselves, too. And that matters, to the Force."

"I will keep in mind that the Force has such a genteel nature, master jedi," Destrus managed to say with some tiny amount of humor to his voice.
"As for my late master - he was a slave tradition. So when an upstart Darth challenged his authority and power under the rules of the ancient Kaggath, well, he accepted. I distanced myself from such idiotic power-play, as I had no intention of dying along with him when there is still so much left to do. A Kaggath is a ritualized duel between two Sith Lords, where the weapons are all of their followers, armies, apprentices, and warships. It is quite the spectacular spectacle in many ways, but overall a lot of noise and little substance."

Distaste showed on Eir’s face at the thought of so many lives thrown away on such a bloody tradition, “and here I thought ritualised combat was designed to spare lives, not raise the body count.” She was mindful of what Chriala had said about what people chose to call themselves, but more dubious about whether the Force could care what names they used.

"Kaggath is ritualised warfare between two powers. Each side is to fully utilize every tool at their disposal," he explained even if he cared little for the tradition himself. "I find it to be a waste. The deaths are hardly a concern of mine," Destrus almost scoffed at such a thought, "but the loss of potential is such a misfortune."
Destrus slowly strode in the direction of one of the narrow corridors leading off from the chamber. "Even in death, there should be a purpose. Maybe in the name of science, some ideology, or foolish beliefs."

"Scientist, scholar, researcher... many names, but yes, it is a great interest of mine. Especially since there is so little actual hard science attached to matters of the Force," he mused thoughtfully, once more looking up to the sky-window. "As someone of Arkanian blood, you might know a few things about science yourself, child?"

"Maybe," she answered sullenly. She was bright, and a quick learner, but her studies hadn't been particularly focused, and her best area was in Jedi Lore and the mystical tales that had captured a young girl's imagination.

"Did you know that the Arkanians engineered a new sub-species of their own kind, to serve the pure ones?" he mused. The light of the mask seemed concentrated on Eir.

Eir screwed up her nose, looking up at the Sith, “that’s terrible!” The girl was acutely aware that she was in no danger of being mistake for a ‘pure’ anything, and felt a rumble of discontentment in the pit of her stomach, she definitely hadn’t won the genetic lottery.

"Is it?" Destrus looked down at the child. "And why would that be?"
