Day at the beach (D5, EA)

[Jaric Kaedan]

"Food's ready to be eaten when you guys are done having fun," Jaric shot in dryly, before looking over to Esla. His expression softened a tad. "So, what do you think of the game?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I'm game!" Snow volleyball? It could work, though there would de significantly less distractions.

"Right now though I think it's more important to me first in line for lunch though." And with that he dashed off towards where Master Jaric was cooking.

[Corvin Zell]

Corvin snorted. "Oh sure, give you the home field advantage." He smirked, crossing his arms again. "Maybe we should let me have the edge, and set up in a swamp."

[Esla Tor]

Esla gave everyone a small smile as they approached to grab their food for the afternoon, having done her contribution to the meal. She was more content watching people take their share than getting the first dib for camping the barbeque.

"It was a pretty exciting game with a lot of action," she nodded soundly at that before smiling sheepishly. "I don't know if I would have done very much in their place. It seems more exciting to watch than to play."

"Doesn't home field advantage means you go without the thermal cloaks?" Silas said thoughtfully as he loaded up his plate.

"Wouldn't we get all muddy playing in a swamp?"

[Corvin Zell]

Corvin smirked. "Yeah. Don't worry. I think all of you can handle a little mud."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I suppose so." Silas mused as he thought of the pros and cons of both. I mean you could probably still get away with swimsuits in the swamp, and the mud would be slippery. Maybe someone would trip and there would be the legendary clothing malfunction?

"It kinda sounds fun too, now that I think about." The main benefit of Ilum would probably be getting to sit around a fire and sip hit chocolate after.

"Do you think fresh baked bread would go well with your stew?" Silas asked as he placed a piece of bread on his plate and moved towards one of the tables.

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Ooh, food! Thanks Master Jaric. Oh wait, I'm just going for a quick dip before I eat, otherwise I'll not want to move. Back in a few minutes." She grabbed her breather and ran off down to the water. Laughing, she ran in, diving when it reached waist height.

[Chriala Hulis]

A little ways out in the water, someone's head and shoulders popped up above the surface. It was difficult to tell whose, though; they seemed to be wearing a wetsuit that covered the entire body, even the eyes. The mouth was covered by a rebreather; not even an inch of the person beneath was visible.

One hand came up, pulling the rebreather to the side. "Hello there, child." Came Master Chriala's voice.

"I suppose so." Silas mused as he thought of the pros and cons of both. I mean you could probably still get away with swimsuits in the swamp, and the mud would be slippery. Maybe someone would trip and there would be the legendary clothing malfunction?

He looked over at Ares. "Guess we just need to find something for Ares to do." He smirked. "I guess someone's gotta do the washing up."

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy couldn't believe it at first and emerged at the surface with delight. Removing her breather she tread water. A small shoal of yellow and black fishes came to inspect them.

"Hi Master Chriala! Fancy meeting you out here." She giggled. "Isn't this just awesome? It's beautiful out here."

[Jaric Kaedan]

"Hmm," Jaric said thoughtfully as he picked up his bottle of juice. Drinking beer would've given a poor impression to the students at this time. "Maybe master Orgus could do the washing, seeing as he's letting us do all the work."

He glanced over to the older man in his chair.

[Orgus Din]

Orgus gave a lazy wave. "I've been on kitchen duty often enough. There's not a pot or pan that I can't handle."

[Chriala Hulis]

Zizzy couldn't believe it at first and emerged at the surface with delight. Removing her breather she tread water. A small shoal of yellow and black fishes came to inspect them.

"Hi Master Chriala! Fancy meeting you out here." She giggled. "Isn't this just awesome? It's beautiful out here."

"It is." Chriala said, smiling gently; her lips being the only part of her that was visible. "There is a great deal to sense. Or, perhaps, to see."

She tilted her head. "There is a sea creature with many limbs on the rocks below. But it tries to hide itself. You may or may not be able to see it."

[Zizzy Roosh]

"That sounds like a fun challenge." She put the breather back in and dove under the surface. Her tendrils spread out around her head as she moved through the water. Her attention moved to the rocks and she waited patiently to see if anything revealed itself or looked out of the ordinary.

She wondered what Chriala 'saw', and if it could be put into words that she could understand. Maybe it was like describing tendril sense to someone with ears?

"It usually does." Corvin grunted. "That'll work."

He looked over at Ares. "Guess we just need to find something for Ares to do." He smirked. "I guess someone's gotta do the washing up."

"Girls like dessert." Silas murmured. "I'm pretty sure that Ares could handle making pudding or something." Three dishes were better then two as well.

[Esla Tor]

When the majority of her peers grabbed their share of the food, Esla looked at the wealth that was probably still left from Jaric's handiwork and began helping herself to some assortment of items with some of the bread she helped slice.

On the way down, Zizzy saw something swim away. Some sort of small shark, perhaps. But it had lizard-like scales. And was that fur? It swam out of sight before she could get a proper look.

She never would have been able to see it with her eyes. But her tendrils detected something among the rocks that was, in fact not a rock. With careful study, she was able to see that part of the shape of the rocky floor was actually an octopus, about the size of a small dog, flattened and camouflaged.

[Ares Pax]

"Ugh...sure, I can try some pudding?" Ares was far from certain of it all, but he wanted to give it a try. He was already on his second plate of food though, apparently the game sapped some of his energy.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I can get you a recipe Ares, you just need to follow the instructions." Cooking was a lot like science after all. "I'm sure you'll do just fine. Though if you're worries I suppose we could just get some of the instant stuff." Though that seemed a little like cheating.

Finishing up with his first plate, he glanced towards the ocean. More food or swimming? It seemed like food won out for now. As he stood to get a little bit more.
