Junior Jedi Knights (D1, Late Morning) [Open]

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy kept a weather eye on the crowds to make sure no one was paying them too much attention. Byron had been fast and there hadn't been to much noise. Standing next to Zanja she focused her attention on the item that had set her senses all a'tingling.

"Soooooo. Can I look at it? Do we know what it is? Where did you get it Mr Ithorian and what did he want with it?" She looked up at Byron, across to Zanja, and back at the package with eyes full of curiosity.

[Faily]

"I don't do such things," Beni tutted slowly in response to being accused of tomb-raiding. He was far too old to do such things himself. "Don't know what it is. Maybe some old tech? It doesn't seem to work anyway. It came in one of my shipments, and have just held onto it until I could figure out what it is, or maybe find a buyer. Beats me what the gentleman here wanted with it. He asked specifically for it, so I guess he must've known it was here somehow."

Removing the cloth revealed a flat disk-like object, with strange engravings in geometric-like patterns encircling what almost seemed like a dead screen made of some sort of polished stone surface. It felt... like something attuned to the Force, somehow, but very faint as if it had run out of battery a long time ago.

The kids' tried to divide their attention between something exciting going on, and doughnuts... doughnuts won out for now though. So Silas was met with a chorus of "me!" in response to his question. "Is that my nickname?!" Riko beamed with enthusiasm.

Reg tried to be helpful by waving and hollering for a security officer, and judging by how the crowd decided to stay away from the scene, it was probably likely that one was heading your way.

[Byron Mik]

Byron handed it off to Zizzy and said, "Well Beni I'm glad you were here to witness this thug trying to mug us after we purchased this relic legally."

He looked down at the thug and added, "Just lucky he tripped and hit his head on the counter, twice. Lucky for us I guess."

[Zanja]

Zanja sighed. Reeeeaaally subtle. "Come on, Reg, let's have some doughnuts while we wait for the nice Security Force officers." No point letting Silas and the other littles eat all the best ones.

[Faily]

"Uh, ok, Zanja..." Reg nodded, feeling proud of having helped out! "Those Black Suns are so mean. Why do they have to do this?" he inquired, mostly to Zanja, but he didn't mind who answered his question.

Beni nodded, not wanting to argue in letting this matter slip since it meant he was off the hook. "Yes, yes, most fortunate. Please enjoy your purchase, master Byron."

[Zizzy Roosh]

Inside her head Zizzy made this noise: Squeeeeee!!!

On the outside she calmly cleared her throat and nodded. "Hmm? Yes, very good. And the important thing is that no-one got hurt." Her long fingers ran over the surface of the object, tracing the patterns. "Well. No-one that didn't ask for it."

She peered intently at the relic before covering it again with the cloth and slipping it into her clothing. What are you?

"Sure is." He replied with a grin at Riko. "I hope you like it." Seeing as there was no consensus about who was up first he let Lyssa have first pick, she was the youngest after all.

The rest of the order was decided randomly based on who looked hungriest and who had been the best behaved.

Di and Reg got a smile as they arrived, and their pick of what Doughnuts were left when they arrived

"Always a pleasure to help out an old friend, Beni," he replied.

"Business been good?"

[Zanja]

"Uh, ok, Zanja..." Reg nodded, feeling proud of having helped out! "Those Black Suns are so mean. Why do they have to do this?" he inquired, mostly to Zanja, but he didn't mind who answered his question.

"Somebody in the Suns thinks that thing is valuable for some reason, obviously." Zanja explained. "Maybe Zizzy knows why. And they don't want to pay for it because they don't like paying for stuff they can just take... because they're mean."

"And because they like having lots of money," she added after a moment's further reflection. "There, that's my story. Do I get a donut now?" She inspects the remaining selection carefully.

[Faily]

"Why don't someone just teach them all a lesson? Make them stop doing that!" Reg wasn't easily swayed by donuts right now, and was like a kid angry at the injustice in the world (then again, he also is a kid).

Lyssa looked at Reg and handed him a doughnut. "Don't be angry. It ruins the taste."

"I have a nickname! It's great!"
"I want a nickname too!"

Beni gave a few nods of appriciation and scooped up the credits Byron had placed on the counter. "Oh, not as good as it used to be. Trinkets from primitive places aren't what's popular anymore except for the specially inclined folks and those tend to have better sources than old me. It's all about patriotism these days and emulating the Jedi aesthetics," he shook his head. "But I make do. We always do here, you know."

It was hard to tell from such a quick look at the item, but it must be some sort of device that could be turned on somehow, since it had something that looked like a screen. The design seemed very strange too, nothing like what was on Mikkia, or used by the Jedi. But the most certain feeling was that it was probably powered by the Force and only someone capable of using the Force could turn it on.

"Yup!" Silas replied offering Zanja her pock from the bag. With all the kids having donuts, there were only a few left, but such was expected.

"Pick the kind you like." He continued as he offered the bag her way. "Well, I'll work on nicknames for whoever wants one." The young man offered after a moment. "It might take a bit though, it's hard work."

[Zanja]

"Eh. It's not that easy to teach somebody something they don't want to learn. And there aren't enough Byrons to run around bashing everybody all the time." Zanja snagged a donut covered in icing and multicolored sprinkles and chomped into it. "You just gotta play smart and focus on protecting the people who need it," she added around a sticky mouthful. "Mmm. Jara fruit jelly. Thanks, Pearson."

[Byron Mik]

Byron nodded and added, "Well if you have issues here is my contact info. Jedi Cop will do what he can to keep the place civil."

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Jedi Cop, so dreamy." Zizzy winked at Byron. "If you've got this, detective, I'm going for a doughnut." She walked back to the group but kept Byron in sight when she sat down.

"Anything good left in that garbage bag?" She looked over at Silas as matter of ceremonies. "If so, I guess I might let you help me figure out what this device does..."

"Oh?" A lopsided smile made it's way into his lips as he looked over at Meli. "That sounds like it could be fun. " Reaching into the bag he produced a tasty looking morsel a little plainer then all the rest so it was lacking icing and topped with powdered sugar it had been overlooked. "This is one of my favorites." Silas offered as he passed it towards Zizzy.

"Its filled with raspberry jam." He continued quietly, as if he was slow to part from the secret.

Byron added, “Make sure that relic thing gets to a Master when we get back.”

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Niiiice." She theatrically took it from him with a solemn nod before sniffing at it and sensing it with her tendrils. Zizzy was about to take a bite when Byron made his comment. She shot him the sort of withering look that only a teenager could pull off sincerely.

"Oh really? I was planning to keep it and steal its power." She rolled her eyes. "Actually, I think I'll stick it under your mattress."

That brought a brief pause. Maybe under the mattress wasn't all that good of a hiding space after all? He should of figured he wouldn't be the first person to this of that. "Doesn't mean we can't look at it while it's here." Silas offered cheerfully, though with a mostly empty bag of donuts in his hands looking is mostly what he could do.

She took a bite of the doughnut. It really was delicious. The raspberry flavour was perfect. She chewed thoughtfully, keeping her teenage scowl fixed on Byron for a moment longer. Replacing the expression briefly with a stuck out tongue she returned her attention to Silas and slipped the device out.

"I think it's powered by the force."

Silas wasn't really good at all with the secrety forcey stuff, his interest laid more with things with moving parts. Still this looked like some sort of fancy datapad, so maybe he could at least figure out how it works.

"That's a weird thing for something to be powered by." He mused mostly to himself, as he stepped closer to get a better view. "Still it means we could probably charge it, if we wanted."
