[D7 EE] Glade to Meet You

[Hatoful GM]

She smiled, clearly reassured by both words and touch. "Would you tell me a little more about when you joined?" She asked them both.

[Eir]

"I didn't even really know what Jedi were when I met Master Chriala," Eir started, not sure what parts to tell and what to leave out. "I was an orphan, and I didn't have anywhere to live," this particular version of the story might have come as a surprise to Zizzy, the girl never talked about her past, but there were plenty of rumours. "Master Chriala took me to the Jedi Temple, and said that I could live there. And not just live there, they have amazing archives filled with anything you want to learn, and gardens," she trailed off with a wistful smile.

[Hatoful GM]

"That sounds nice..." Glade hummed happily.

After a moment, she looked thoughtful. "And... you like it?"

[Eir]

Eir's gut twisted as she recalled her vision's offer, but she kept her smile in place, "I do, I've done things I had never imagined." Like treat with a Sith Lord for information.

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy smiled encouragingly at Eir as she told her story. "I didn't know that Eir. I was living with my parents but they weren't that interested in my talk of visions and such. Instead I spent most of my time with my grandmother. She could read the tendrils so people would seek her out for advice. We used to go off into the wilderness together for days."

She smiled happily at the memory. "Then one day I saw myself meeting this strange creature in town. He was going to take me to the stars to visit a big temple and help me find my destiny. The next day I met him, Master Orgus, and off we went. Well, he made sure my family were happy about the idea first."

[Hatoful GM]

Glade smiled brightly at Eir.

"That sounds great." She said, looking back and forth between them. "No one in my family can see the things I can. It would be neat if someone could!"

After that, though, she deflated slightly, her head drooping.

[Eir]

Eir looked concerned, "are you worried about leaving your family?"

[Hatoful GM]

Slowly, she nodded. "I am their only one. Who will tend them, when they get older?"

[Eir]

That was a tricky question, and one that Eir was decidedly not qualified to answer. "If you decide to be a Jedi, you would train at the Temple, but not all Jedi remain there forever. The Force has a path for you, Glade, and we don't always know what that path is, but we trust the Force to help us do the right thing." The talk of paths and making the right decision was ringing especially true for the half-arkanian, having twice now refused what she believed to be the 'wrong' path.

No, Destrus is wrong, our destinies are not set in stone, even the Force isn't immutable, "if your path doesn't lead back to this place, as a Jedi you will still be able to help your parents from afar." She wasn't sure if she was communicating the idea well, maybe Zizzy would be able to do a better job of reassuring the girl. It wasn't like Eir had left anything behind when she came to the Jedi, she never felt what Glade was feeling.

[Hatoful GM]

"I see. So... perhaps I could tend to them from time to time, when they need it?" Glade burbled happily. "Okay. I think I would like that! Thank you, Eir. And thank you Zizzy."

The lips of her mouths moved for a few moments. "Would you help me talk to my parents?"

As if on queue, her father reappeared. "Here you go! Oh... there's one more of you." He was holding two trays. He set them down, then slowly began walking back towards the kitchen.

[Chriala Hulis]

"I will, child." Chriala's accent was a little rough, but she was easy to understand. She smiled. "It is a conversation I've had before. I know a bit about what questions they will ask."

[Eir]

Eir felt a sense of warm satisfaction, "thank you, Master Chriala, probably not realising she was still speaking ithorian. With the arrival of food, Eir's smile turned to a grin, "yum, yum."

[Hatoful GM]

Glade looked around, grinning at all of them. "I'd better go help him out. When I get back, I'll join you!" She scurried back to the kitchen, almost beating her father there.

For a few moments at least, the Jedi were left alone.

[Zizzy Roosh]

"What do you think Master?" She wondered if Chriala thought Glade was a good candidate. "Your Ithorian came back nicely Eir. Just needed a bit of practice!"

[Chriala Hulis]

Chriala nodded. "Yes, I can feel her gift. And she clearly has a good heart." Smiling, she nodded. "I will speak to her parents."

Her lips quirked. "Perhaps after the meal. Although... it's been a while since I've eaten quite that many bugs." Indeed, the two plates already out seemed rather heavy on them.

[Eir]

“As long as I don’t have to recite any poetry,” Eir laughed, reaching for one of the bugs and crunching contentedly.

Glade came out, carrying two more plates; one for herself, one for Chriala, with somewhat more fish than bugs. She also no longer wore the translator.

Setting down the plates, she hopped easily into a seat. "Ooh, it's good tonight." She hummed, tossing back a sampling of greens and bugs.

[Zizzy Roosh]

"I think I remember a few. They're a bit...long." Zizzy looked happy with the selection that Glade brought back. "Oh, those bugs look tasty! Think I'll start with a little bit of everything. But remind me I have to save some room. The boys lost to us at volleyball so they're making food later."

All that time rooming with Byron meant Zizzy could handle an extra meal or two. She'd train it off later with some lightsaber practice.

[Eir]

Eir raised her eyebrows, no one had told her about that. Assuming that to mean she wasn’t invited, the girl reached for another bug. The taste of bug itself was quite mild, and the flavour profile came mostly from the preparation, and the crunch, and the half-arkanian enjoyed both.

After a few bites of her meal, Glade turned her head to the side. "Volleyball?" She asked.
