A Cup of Kaf (Day 9 Late Morning)

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"A nerd?" He flashed a grin. "Now I'm curious what exactly you were into... Gaming maybe?" It made a bit of sense with her current job, maybe she wanted something in a similar field?

"But yeah, I plan to keep up with them. It will be nice to see where they all end up, and to send them messages from tiem to time." He smiled softly. "Course I need to make sure to get your actual info too before I go, I can't very well send you pictures of places I visit if I don't know where it's supposed to go." He frowned a moment. "Unless the base address is someplace I can reach you."

Again, Jes blushed, just a little. "I've been known to do a bit of gaming from time to time, yeah."

She smiled brightly, dimples flashing. "Yeah, okay! Here, I'll give you my holomail address." She entered it into his datapad.

Jes made a face. "If you were sending me something physical for some reason, yeah, you'd just send it to the base. You could almost just address it 'Jes Kaeden, Ilum'. It's not like they're accidentally gonna send it to the next town over."

He perked up a bit at that. "Ever play Force Caliber VI?" She might of at least, and it was his current favorite so he had to ask.

"Thanks." He wasn't really sure how much they'd write but Jes did seem pretty cool, and was cute to boot. Which was more then enough reason to keep in contact, at least for Silas.

"Hrm." He considered that for a moment. "Maybe I'll send you some I make somewhere down the lien then. I'm not really sure there is much cause for wearing things outside of regulations here though." He grinned. "Just don't be surprised if you get somethign from Silas Miles Pearson." He brought his cup to his lip. "You said your last name was Kaeden, though? That sounds pretty close to Master Jaric's last name. I suppose that just proves there are all kinds of names in the galaxy though."

"A bit." Jes smirked. "Maybe more than a bit. And as for wearing things non-regulation, well, at least my free time's my own. I wouldn't mind a change of pace."

She chuckled at the mention of names. "I know, right? I went through basic with a Sunstrider. I mean, how'd his family even get that name, anyway?"

"Well, after I draw up some design's i'll send them your way then." Silas replied with a bright smile. "Anything in particular you like? casual clothes, dresses? Maybe something liek the hero from your favorite game?" Heck he could do most things.

"Sunstrider? Really?" He shook his head. "That is a weird one, ever ask them about it?"

"You can make stuff like game characters?" Jes' eyes seemed to glint.

She shook her head. "Nah. He wasn't really a friend. And how do you ask about something like that?" She struck a pose. "Oh, uh, hey there, Dirk. Why's your last name Sunstrider?" She chuckled. "Oh yeah, and his first name was Dirk, too. Can you believe it?"

"Yeah." He looked off to the side. "It's one of the reasons I first got into makign things... Not many people really let me make them stuff liek that though."

"Well. I bet I could do it." He replied with a thoughtful expression. "I mean I'm pretty good at doing awkward things. But, yeah g\it's probably not a good idea..." He blinked. "Dirk? You mean parents really name their kids that?"

"Well..." Jes pursed her lips. "I think I might like to see that. If you made something. I really did play a lot of Forcecalibur Six, you know."

She buried her face in her hands. "And yes! Dirk!" She laughed, shaking her head. "I guess before I asked 'why Sunstrider', I could have been asking 'why Dirk'."

"Well, send me your measurements sometime and I'll get started on it when I get the chance." He was starting to think he asked too many ladies for their measurements of late... But it's not like you could make something that fit without them. "Though, the deal is I get to see a picture of you in whatever I send ya." He added with a impish grin. "Though not that I know you're a fan, I want to have a few matches with you!"


He chuckled alogn with her. "That is a good question. Though I suppose with a name like Sunstrider you might as well go with something just as ridiculos?" He shook his head. "I'm glad my parents weren't that bad."

The look she gave him was a bit strange, but she nodded. "Yeah, okay. Sure." She smiled. "Now I'm really curious what you're going to make. And how good you are at Forcecalibur."

"Ummmm..." She bit her lip. "Yeah, Silas is a pretty good name. I think they did a good job." Her eyes darted away. It was clear that she'd wanted to ask about his parents, but was too nervous.

"Mmmm... I have something it mind that I think will suit you." He replied a mischevious twinkle in his eye, hopefulyl she was okay showing off some skin. "I'll leave it as a surprise though." He brought his cup to his lips. "As for Force Caliber, I'm pretty good. Better then most of the other trainees."

"Yeah, they did." He smirked. "They live on Coruscant, so I'm still able to see them from tiem to time. That's not a common thing amogn jedi." Mosst were seperated by a lot more distance. "Last I saw it looked like my siblings were running them a little ragged though."

"A surprise..." She looked at him with a quirky, curious smile.

Jes breathed a quick sigh of relief. "Oh, that's good. I wondered if you still got to see them. How many siblings have you got, anyway?"

"Yup!" He grinned. "Surprises are fun afterall. It gives you something to guess at, and me something to look forward to." Which might help distract her for a bit from the tedium.

"Not alot, but I do. As for how many? Three." Silas replied with a warm smile. "Kat's finally at that age where she has started to notice boys. I'm not sure if she has been out on a date though." He wasn't around to be a big brother about it.

"I see." She said, her tone a bit amused. "I'll look forward to it."

Jes smiled, resting her chin on her hand. "Mmm. How old is she?"

"Good." He offered her a warm smile and leaned back in his chair. Now he just had to figure out which of the costumes he was going to make. Some wwere a bit lewder then others, and Jes didn't seem super daring.

"She recently turned fifteen?" Silas murmured after a few moments.

"Fifteen..." Jes said almost wisftully. "Well, I didn't go on my first date until I was sixteen, so maybe you've got a bit of time yet."

Her chrono chirped at her. She glanced at it with a sigh. "That's duty calling, I'm afraid." She looked at Silas, giving him another of her dimpled smiles. "It's been nice, though. Thank you, Silas. Nice Vent Boy."

"Maybe." He flashed a grin. "Could be it's too late already." Maybe she had even had her first kiss.

"That it has, Jes." He smiled at her. "Maybe if our schedules align we'll be able to get in a few games of Forcecalibur before I leave." It was possible even if it wasn't likely. "If not, it's been fun, and feel free to call me if you ever want to talk, Dimples."

Jes smiled. "I'd like that, Silas." Her lips quirked. "Wouldn't mind beating a Jedi."

The smile grew softer. "Thanks for making this place seem a little less lonely. Maybe I will call you sometime." She sighed. "Well... bye for now."

Rising, she walked from the room, dropping her mug in the refresher on the way. She did cast one backwards glance on the way out.

"Oh, don't count your wins before you get them." He chided before finishing his own cup of mad.

"Feel free, anytime you're feel a little stuck out on the edge of the world. I'll make time, if I'm able." His own smile was warm as he raised a hand to wave goodbye.

He couldn't help but grin a bit as she looked back, and he couldn't help but offer a playful wink. She'd need to put in a bit more effort here, but she'd be fine.
