Seeing the troopers scattered by Zanja's assault, Zizzy advanced towards them with her lightsaber ignited. Expecting her to charge into the middle of them it was something of a surprise when she called on the force to hurl debris. Bricks, stones, and bits of sheared metal rained down on the troopers. She felt the brief thrill of battle.

Taime reflected one of the bolts away with his lightsaber, thanking The Force that he'd been practicing this so much, even if it was hard to block them. But the next few hit him solidly, despite his best efforts.

(3 strain to do reflect, 2 wounds not soaked)

Feeling his adrenaline kick into high gear, he reached out to the Force. There were too many groups for all of them to fight at once. If they didn't act fast, more people would die. As he heard the screams of the civilians behind him, rage coursed through him and he reached out to level the playing field.

(Maneuver to move into short range, maneuver to move into engaged (2 strain), Action: Use influence to make troopers believe something untrue)

Screaming, he said, "You're shooting the wrong people, you idiots!"

Esla reached for her lightsaber and flicked it on, flaring a stabilized beam of turquoise. It felt different in many ways, as she was using her lightsaber as a weapon for the first time and this wasn't practice! it was the real thing! She saw that the others have dealt with their respective groups and left one free. If they were to defend the civilians, they had to make sure that their focus was entirely on them. As she stepped toward them, she put the anxiety in the back of her thoughts and replaced it with confidence. She raised her lightsaber and worked on pacifying the Sith troops.

Seeing an opportunity to tackle the other group of troopers, Zizzy dashed into their midst with her lightsaber an orange blur. Rather than slicing up her opponents she handily disarmed them both. Standing over the rifles with her blade in front of her she spoke sternly.

"Surrender and you will survive this."

The group of stormtroopers surrounding Taime aimed their blasters at the second group...

"Kriff!" One suddenly yelled. They tossed their blasters to the ground, shock by the realization they'd been about to open fire on their friends.

"Ow, dammit," Zanja hissed as the second group's blaster fire clipped her side through her robe. But seeing Esla take fire as well changed her plans for revenge. A Shien fighter should always be in motion, unpredictable... she darted out of her opponents' sights to pounce on Esla's attackers from behind, downing them in a flash of silvery purple light.

Dropping to one knee beside the bodies, she fished a stimpack out of her belt, uncapped it with her teeth, and jabbed it into her leg above the biggest blaster burn.

This was not going their way, even with his attempts at taking down the number of opponents.

(Flipping a destiny to upgrade my roll again)

The last hope, upgrade from ally triumph, flipping destiny to upgrade, influence roll: 3eP+1eF+2eD 1 failure, 4 advantage, 2 Light Side

added boost die to previous roll because forgotten: 1eB 1 success, 1 advantage

Reaching down deep into his core of will, he tried again, but the rage seemed to have flared out. He wasn't as convincing as he'd been before.

"Our reinforcements are coming. And they make us look like...babies!" That really wasn't it Taime. We need to work on not dunking on ourselves while shit talking.

He didn't scare any of them, but a few of them seemed to be laughing in their masks and unable to focus.

(No change, but two boosts to Esla. Hit em with your best shot!)

Esla gasped as a blaster shot went at her, clearly the first time she had been shot with real live-blaster fire. She instinctively raised her lightsaber to stop the shot from hitting her fully. It seemed rather easy to do when it came to her exercises with the practice droid but the sensation of the blaster up close was entirely different. Just as it hit the beam, she could feel its hot heat on her skin and it was very unpleasant. That didn't do much to forewarn her as the shot deflected from her only to strike her in the arm, rather than her head as intended. She cried out in pain as she staggered back.

She quickly reached for her stimpack and poked herself to numb pain, though it did very little for the unsightly wound on her. After tossing the cartridge away, she redoubled her attack on another group to suppress them further.

"Yield!" She commanded them.

Esla couldn't help but give the soldier and exasperated blink as they didn't choose to surrender. Even worse still, it seemed that they were very committed to fighting tooth and nail if need be. She supposed they were committed, even if their cause was wrong, just as she was committed to the defence of the weak.

"Stop, stand down!" She pleaded with them before they were upon them with their weapons. Without any other options, she had to retaliate to make herself heard.

"Taime, what are you doing? Draw your saber or get out of there, but pick one, okay?" Like Esla, Zanja charged to Taime's rescue (as she saw it, at least), arriving in time to finish the last trooper standing with a quick thrust he didn't have a hope of dodging.

And with that, the troopers were gone.

The sound of heavy machinery was drawing closer. A mechanical hum, accompanied by a heavy thud in a regular rhythm. Whatever it was, it was close. But it wasn't there yet.

END STAGE 1

Please make a post with the following info:

1) The results of a Cool or Discipline roll with no difficulty to recover strain
2) Whether you are using a stimpack or a medicine check on someone. Or neither!
3) Initiative for Stage 2! You may choose between Cool and Vigilance.

In about 14 hours, I will begin more aggressive ghosting, so make sure you have ghosting instructions in your PF.
