"More than here," she said simply on the matter, at least it seemed like that before she left the world for training.

She looked up when Farissa addressed her and found herself blushing faintly that the master was paying attention, especially after their talk earlier that day. After taking a long sip from her flavoured water to show that she was appreciative of the refreshments that she was given, she spoke once more, "It's more relaxed than Centa, at least...There are more people here and it seems like there is at least some time for relaxing, even if people have somewhere to be."

"The Empire is one," Farissa nodded tentatively. "Then there's pirates, and well, sometimes just other planets. Or people up to no-good. Like for instance, within the Republic, slavery is illegal - which has made it a safe haven for many refugees fleeing such conditions in the Outer Rim."

"Some kind of feudal bantha crap, huh?" Zanja said, giving Esla a sympathetic look as she grabbed another bulb of juice. "There's people here who still have to work all day just to have enough to eat, too. But it's definitely better."

She nodded along to Farissa's explanation. People banding together for protection against bullies wasn't something she had any difficulty imagining.

"Man." Mir's tail flopped against the deck once more. "Sounds like a strict place. But if that keeps people from doing bad things, maybe it's good." he slowly blinked his eyes at the timid girl, offering her a smile of his own kind.

Farissa wrote:"The Empire is one," Farissa nodded tentatively. "Then there's pirates, and well, sometimes just other planets. Or people up to no-good. Doesn't seem to stop people trying to sell people.. Mir mused to "So, how did they figure which planets and folks were good? And which weren't? What keeps people from doing bad stuff if they get away with it?" he was full of questions as usual. "Feudal?" he picked up the word even if he only glanced at the zabrak. "What's that." he hoped that Farissa would explain the matter. "Some kind of world where you don't have enough food?"

"It is peaceful," she admitted with a few nods. There was that going for it, at least.

"...How about yours?" She asked in return, most likely out of politeness.

Esla glanced at the direction of Master Farissa when she mentioned slavery. She pursed her lip, if there were rules broken or circumvented somewhere. Then again, she supposed she was paid somewhat.

"Feudal means old-fashioned or living in the past." She murmured as an explanation, having heard that description used about her world before. "It doesn't mean they don't have enough food or anything..."

"Uh, Doloran." Mir's ear's slanted against his skull. "I mean, that's not my home world. That's the only place I remember. It was cold and full of trash. And slavers." he sighed. "Farffin's supposed to be the home of the farghul. Don't remember much, other than it was warm."

"Living in the past? Like everyone having slugthrowers and knives instead of blasters and vibroblades? Oh and those hoover's that don't hoover at all. Like, they roll on large circles to get around."

"Like some people are toffs and others are peasants, and different classes have different rules," Zanja explained. "At least, that's what castles and manors and rules sounds like to me." Scowling faintly--Resting Zabrak Face strikes again!--she added, "Though you don't even have to have kings and nobles around to get that, really. Enough money will do it."

"Ah, well that sounds familiar." Mir scowled. "So were you a toff or a peasant?" he turned to Esla with a hint of suspicion in his voice. His tail was ever so slightly pluffed.

"Oh..." Esla murmured at the description of his planet of origin. It didn't sound particularly nice nor a place that was filled with good memories. That was probably not a good one to inquire further about.

She narrowed her eyes with a slight frown. The idea might have been right but they weren't exactly primitive. When pressed for information, she sank slightly in her seat. "We still have blasters and hoover crafts there. It's just sometimes they like using mounts. And sometimes there are more swords than blasters."

"Uh. People are bringing swords to blaster fights? That sounds silly." Mir commented, still soynding suspicious. However he didn't press the matter. Maybe she was a pheasant, maybe she was a baddie. But now she was here so she couldn't be too bad. After all he had been told that Jedi were force for good.

"No..." She said with a pensive frown afterwards as she was a touch frustrated. It seemed difficult to explain things to strangers, especially considering she probably didn't know as much as she'd like. It was just how things were and people should accept it. "I guess people just like swords better as a fashion, it's more prestigious and treasured more. They still have blasters or guards with blasters. Ships too. We just look old-fashioned, but we're really not."

"Hey, lots of people still use swords," Farissa interjected. "Even the Jedi. Tecnically. Well, some do - like Ares or Byron. They have swords."

"Issee." Mir sounded puzzled, wrinkling his nose as he tried to wrap his mind around the idea. "I guess. Sounds still like taking a blaster with you would be a good idea. Back on Doloran, everyone would have a lead pipe or a shiv." he made a small stabbing move with his paw. "Hidden somewhere of course. The minders didn't like you having stabby stuff on you. But everyone had something, because there were fights. Better to have something just in case in case someone tries to frikk you." There was a chance he wasn't making much sense, not that he was particularly aware of that. "Still, blaster would have been great. Zip. No more bad guys."

"Jedi are bit special, no miss Farissa?" Mir's ear's perked when he turned to the knight. "People don't try to clobber us dead on regular basis."

Esla gave Mir a bemused look and pulled her cloak closer to her with her gloved hands as if she was cold. Or rather, perhaps protect herself from whatever Mir was shiving with his paw in case he chose to aim that weapon at her. "I see...that doesn't sound like a very nice place. I'm sorry that you had to put up with something like that. I don't feel like you need to have a blaster on Coruscant, at least."

"No, slavers aren't nice." Mir murmured. "Makes this place feel like paradise, really." he waved his paw in the direction of the city. "No-one has to fight for scrap for food. Or be afraid of getting ganked in their sleep." a small sigh escaped his snout. "So yeah, no need for blasters here. I guess." he coughed softly, recalling the slughthrower he carried on himself.

"...Ganked?" She murmured, as she wasn't exactly familiar with that term. Whatever it was, she at least knew it probably wasn't pleasant. "Yes, I know that it's not safe or fancy everywhere in the galaxy. We're pretty lucky to be where we are at the moment. Maybe, others can be so lucky too?"

"Snuck on and gibbed or whacked. Or stabbed if you are unlucky. The fewer slaves there were going through the scrap, the better chances there were for you to find something fancy. Something that get you a lot of food." Mir explained matter-of-factually. "So some people tried to cull the competition. Gank them." he nodded few times as if what he said many any sense in the civilized part of the universe.

"I hope to go back there one day. Help others." Mir glanced at Farissa, pondering if she could hear him.

"Oh..." She said in realization with a few blinks of her eyes. "I can see why you'd want to have less people around if there isn't that much food. Ganking people seems very mean..." Maybe that's what the Sith did because there wasn't enough food, lightsabers or seats on the tour cruise.

"You must have been luck to not get ganked."

"Also I knew where to hide. Most slaves were not that smart." Mir shrugged. "But the older ones or ones that hurt themselves. There were even rumors... never mind, actually." the farghul coughed softly. "So, when some students say that life at the temple is tedious, I really don't get them."

Farissa seemed to be listening in with a small smile as the students were being social. Meanwhile the droid-voice announced their next arrival with monuments of previous Chancellors of the Republic along a long boulevard.

"It's certainly possible you can go back there some day, Mir," she said with some confidence. "But I hope you do so when you have learned more and grown a little more."
