"I'd need a date before I started practicing that." He replied teasingly, before disappearing into the ship. There was science to be
done. Given that crew members would give the precious youth access to parts of their ship he would try and figure out what kind of hyper-drive they might have.

The crew let him look but not touch, but the old hyperdrive was a bit difficult for Silas to figure out and it left him scratching his head. It was as if it travelled at varying speeds...?

Sometimes things just sing go your way, and that's when you smiled at the adults and put on your best 'I'm just a sweet young kid wanting to learn face'. Turning towards one of the nearby crew members he smiled.

"This hyperdrive is really neat, I dont think I've seen one like it before!"

"Not often ya see one like it, kid. Some damn fine craftsmanship from Empress Teta - still runnin' after all these years and hardly needin' any maintaince," the engineer gave the bulk of the ship an affectionate tap with his hand.

Silas had no idea who Empress Teta was, but if years of holo's taught him anything, it was she was likely pretty cute. "Ooohhh." He offered enthusiastically at the description. "Is she fast then?" He asked after a moment, ships were ladies after all.

"Aye, she's a fast one. Sure and steady in her course," he spoke in admiring tones of the ship. "Finest ship I've ever served on, an' that's the honest truth, son."

"That's good, they said we were going to be on her for quite a bit." He grinned. "A couple weeks going to between two different places?"

"Yep! That's the plan, boy," he nodded sincerely. "Though we try to keep our noses out of 'em Jedi business. It's all a bit too muh for us simple folks, you know. Though you don't seem to be all that bad... not that jedi are bad, right, but many of them are a bit special or high an' mighty, if you catch my drift?"

"I suppose some of us can come off that way." Silas replied with a smile. "But them I'm not really a jedi yet, just a trainee. Maybe that has something to do with it."

He paused thoughtfully. "As fast as this ship is, how long do you think it would take us to get to Corellia?" The young man asked after a few moments. "I heard they had really good ship yards there."

[Faily]

"Eh, maybe, or maybe it's 'cause you have that feel of a regular bloke like us," he laughed heartily and patted Silas on the back. "Corellia, huh? That ain't too far. Maybe a couple of days. Itchin' for a ride to see 'em shipyards, son?"

"Yeah, never really got the chance to leave the planet before, so I'm pretty excited about it." He pursed his lips thoughtfully. "Always seemed like there was a lot of neat places out there too."

"It will likely be a while before I get to travel very freely though." Maybe when he was a knight, or a master?

[Faily]

"Cross yer fingers you get to be one of 'em travellin' jedis. Those are my favorites, kid."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"That's what I'm hopin' for." Silas replied, beaming a smile at the man. "Maybe it will help if I learn more about star ships though." The young man continued thoughtfully.

"I spend most of my spare time just tinkering at the moment."

[Faily]

"You goin' to be one of 'em Jedi pilots? Woo, I heard a great deal about 'em durin' the war - like magic!" he gave a toothy grin as he chuckled. "Or you just like ships and grease, son?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I like the ships and grease." He replied with a grin. "Piloting is cool and all, but I think the coolest thing is getting to see how things really work."

"That's the spirit, son. Don't let all that hokey religion and stuff distract you from the real thing!"

Silas wasn't sure if he should be offended about that or not, but decided to let it slide. "Yeah, machines are cool!" He replied with a grin. "Sometimes I wish there were more hours in the day so I could tinker with them more, but I have a lot of other things to do too, so I can't spend all my time on it."

"Aye, there's more to life than just workin' at it until the sun rises after a full day. For some of us, that's our jobs, but yer young and should enjoy life to the fullest while you can," he gave Silas a few solid pats on the shoulder.

Silas beamed a bright smile at the older man, he really did seem to be a nice fellow. "Thanks!"

"It's been really nice talking about the ship with you, Sir. Oh! Before I forget, I'm Silas." He added after a few moments.
