Byron finished his conversation and headed back to the others. He looked in the bag and then handed it off to the younglings and said, “We’ll let the Jedi Council decide how best to handle this, with luck it will get put in an archive somewhere to be studied. I’m all for intellectual curiosity but this isn’t something we should be fooling around with.”

“If I learned anything about relics that tap into the Force, which isn’t much, they usually are bad news or at best have unintended consequences we are not equipped to handle yet.”

“So don’t get any ideas,” he finished firmly.

"I wasn't suggesting we charge it, I was just speculating." Silas replied with a easy smile as he offered the bag of doughnuts in Byron's direction. There was only a few left, but Byron would get hsi pick before Silas took the last for his own. Part of him wanted to point out the Master's would likely scold them all for this anyways. But he didn't, no need to stir the ant's nest as it were.

"Where to next though, Cap?" He offered instead. They never had picked a actual destination after all. "Or is it back to the Temple? If so I need to pick up a few odds and ends on the way."

"Nice speech Number four, you almost put me to sleep. What happened to trust in your fellow trainees?"

She turned back and gave Silas an encouraging nod as he took a look at it. "Yeah, it's probably just a data recorder of some sort. I'd ask the force about it, but on the off chance it's not I think we should avoid using the force around it. Maybe one of the masters will recognise it."

Looking around the group she added. "We should probably get these sugar-sleepy younglings back too. It's been an exciting time. A little too exciting."

“Just trying to curb any over enthusiasm, let’s head back and grab whatever Silas needed. They have had an exciting morning and we need to report what happened, maybe see if a Knight can do a patrol around the area to keep the peace. Last thing I want is Black Sun to retaliate,” he replied seriously.

“Well all in all I hope everyone had a good time, stopped a bad guy, had some good food, and even found something interesting for the scholars back at the temple to pick at for awhile.”

He looked at the Mikkian and added, “I do trust my fellow trainees, but I wasn’t born yesterday, curiosity is a powerful drug. Even I want to prod the secrets of the relic, but best to leave that to those better equipped to handle it.”

“A Jedi should know their limits.”

That was a bit too much, and Silas breathed a soft sigh. "Which is why if I wasnt in the doughnut shop I would of stopped you from going over in the first place, Cap." The young man replied quietly.

"You did a good thing today, but as you said the Black Sun could retilaite, and it might not just be against that shop keeper. Our first duty today was to protect the younglings, and we failed in that." He offered seriously.

“I am not going to stand by and let people be bullied, never,” he added firmly.

“I disagree; they learned a valuable lesson that the Jedi have to be ready to act. Our first duty is to the people of the Republic, the moment we put our internal concerns above that and we lose our way.”

Thinking about it, you suspect that something powered by the Force requires the user to channel the Force somehow - with enough time you could probably figure out how and get it working.

"Awww are we going back already?"
"I wanna stop the bad guys from coming back again!"

Byron smiled at the children and said, “We need to get back so we can reflect on what we learned. But each of you did great, you listened and you behaved and you even helped someone in need; a great day for any Jedi in training.”

[Zizzy Roosh]

There were a lot of things she wanted to say, but she found her calm centre and simply turned away from Byron. Slipping the device into its bag she tucked it into her robes and started to make sure that the kidlets were all ready for their trip back to the temple.

"Come along children. You aren't going to be taking on any bad guys today. You'll have to learn some patience eventually if you want to make it to Padawan."

Silas wasn't one to argue, and really the masters would be able to explain things a lot better then he would, so the Auburn haired boy let the topic drop.

Instead he busied himself with pondering the mystery of the item as he ate his doughnut. He could pick up the odds and ends he needed on the way. Still he was glad he had brought his backpack.

"On reflection, Zanja had to agree with the wisdom of letting the little ones walk off some of the sugar buzz and then handing them back to their minders before the crash set in. A lot more than she agreed with the lecture on prudence and carefulness from Mr. Spontaneous Head Bashy; she was with Zizzy on that one, though she busied herself wiping sticky little hands rather than arguing this time. Guardians could really be such prigs sometimes.

"Security services can handle it if the bad guys show up again today. Jedi can't go around taking the law in our own hands all the time, or everyone ends up with bigger problems." At least if we're this noisy about it.

Byron was busy talking with the children, he had moved on for now. What happened, happened and it would not have happened any other way. The Force demanded it, and so he acted.

There was some dismay at going back already, and some fuss in wiping hands that were being licked clean, but eventually the group would return safely to the Temple after their little excursion.

Silas' Backpack was a lot fuller then when he left by the time he returned, all kinds of odd's and end in the interior. He'd need to start crafting his armor soon after all. "It was a bit disappointing going back early of course, but it was for the best. Plus they would have time to play some games with the younglings before they were returned.
