Down in the Dark (Byron)

[Byron Mik]

Byron frowned and then turned away from the scene and then started looking for the way he came in. He was someone. He may not have been the best at anything but he was someone.

[Faily]

The moment he turned, it seemed like he hadn't even walked away from the entrance. And he could see the Miralian master turning away from the entrance as if he had just left.

[Byron Mik]

Byron turned around again, he was not going to be chased out of the cave by a crowd. No he would delve deeper.

So back in he went.

[Faily]

Pitch black darkness surrounded him on all sides. Even the cave-walls that should be there seemed to be gone. Just a void...

Maybe there was nothing here for him?

[Byron Mik]

Byron frowned and sat down and meditated.

[Faily]

Meditation was not something new, and he could still feel the energy of the Force around him as he managed to calm himself enough. Though it felt cold and almost foreign, not at all like the usual warmth and reassurance he could feel whenever he could sense the Force nearby to guide him.

Maybe it had guided him as far as he could go.

[Byron Mik]

Byron rose and returned to the Master confused but confident he had done all he could.

[Faily]

The green-skinned master hardly looked like she had moved at all as he turned around to see the entrance just a few steps behind him.

[Byron Mik]

"So... do I win for fastest vision quest?" he joked shaking off the weird feeling from the encounter

[Faily]

Murah looked at him in surprise, and frowned. "What? You can't possibly be back already. You have to actually go into the cave, Byron," she chided harshly, clearly not finding this funny.

[Byron Mik]

"I did go in, I spoke with Lunda... or Cave Lunda and she said I was no one and then I turned around and there you were," he said honestly.

[Faily]

She didn't seem to believe him and wrinkles formed on her forehead as her eyebrows furrowed. "This is no time for jokes, Byron. Get back in there, or you'll be failing this trial," the usualy soft-spoken master said in a harsh voice.

[Byron Mik]

“I am not sure what to tell you Master, I went in there I had a vision and now I am back. I don’t think it has anything more to show me,” he said with a frown.

[Faily]

Murah crossed her arms across her chest with an annoyed expression on her face. "Well, in that case, it would seem the Force has deemed that there is no future for you."

[Byron Mik]

“That sounds a little grim Master, I mean I know I am pretty middling as a trainee but no future… that seems a little extreme. Where is that compassionate Master Murrah charm we all love and cherish?” He replied with confusion.

“And I mean love in a totally platonic non-attachment way, Master.”

[Faily]

Her face was hard and cold, with none of the warmth he had seen in all his years at the temple. Color seemed to leave her too as she was becoming one with the grey murkiness around them. "What compassion is there for you, middling child..."

And she too was gone. There was just the void again.

[Byron Mik]

"So I must still be in the hole..." he said looking around trying to get a bearing of where he was now.

[Faily]

The grey faded to darkness...

And the visions fade.

He could hear the slow drip of water from the ceiling in the cave, and the gentle sounds of water falling into the lake below helped the senses to draw back to reality. Light filtered in from the opening of the cenote.

[Byron Mik]

"Fool me once Dark Side, more fool me, fool me twice... and well I guess I still play the fool, but at some point I am sure I will learn," he said raising a fist at the darkness and dripping water... and well anything cave like.

Including the cave.

[Faily]

His voice echoed off the cavernous walls. His only answer was the fading echoes of his own voice, and more dripping water.
