Down in the Dark (Mir)

Slowly, seemingly over years, slaves were rescued from Doloran with the aid of Mir and his jedi friends. Talks with the slavers went slowly, the negotiations stalling, for what could the Jedi and the Republic they represented to here outside of Republic jurisdiction?

It was slow, hard work - getting them off Doloran barely a handful at a time.

Little farghuls, almost like kittens compared to the big Mir, looked at him and asked: "Can't you do more?"

[Mir]

"I don't know." he felt miserable. Shaking his head he continued "I don't know. I would want to. " He imagined Forcing the slavers to let to let the slaves go. Walking in and making sure that everyone understood what was best for them (tm). Wave of a paw - another dozen or so slaves would walk free. But that would garner attention, he realized. Get him ganked. He looked down at the kittens. "Sometimes a flicker of hope is better than no hope at all."

[Faily]

The kittens looked at him with big eyes, with perhaps a tiny glimmer of hope... but it was fading. They were just like he had been.

The vision fade and the horrible smell of Doloran dissipated too. He was back in the cave, his fur damp from the humidity within. Behind him was the light that led out.

[Mir]

Still confused, Mir pulled off his goggles and turned towards the light. He half expected to find Farissa on the other side.

[Farissa Kho]

At the entrance, Farissa was kneeling to the side. She looked up as he heard Mir step out.

"Welcome back."

[Mir]

Mir didn't have much to say. He glanced at Farissa and then stared at distance. "What happens if you go there again?" he asked, curious.

[Farissa Kho]

She gave a small shrug. "Hard to tell. It's a place that often shows the unexpected, for good or bad."

[Mir]

"So this was it?" he asked, sounding confused. "I mean, I think I know what the cave wanted to show me. But is that all there is to this?"

[Farissa Kho]

"The vergence here tends to bring out the doubts, fears, or darkness within you. Either for you to confront them, or because it attempts to twist you or your intentions - which in itself is a test," she explained from her own experience. "What did you expect?"

[Mir]

"I wasn't really sure what to expect." he replied honestly. "It showed me what I could become - would become." Mir mused. "I didn't like it. But I guess that was the point."

[Farissa Kho]

She gave a thoughtful nod. "It sounds like you learned something valuable then. Feel like talking about it?"

[Mir]

"Uh. Maybe another time. I don't want to think it right now." he glanced up to Farissa. "Is that alright? We can talk tomorrow?"

[Farissa Kho]

"Of course, Mir," she gave a smile and nodded. "Let me follow you back to the temple."

[Mir]

"Is there food waiting for us?" Mir asked hopefully as he eased his cloak as they began to walk. The temperature was higher outside the cave and he was feeling bit too warm for comfort.

[Farissa Kho]

"Yeah, some tasty fish. Much better than any fish you get on Coruscant," she snickered, knowing that fishy was a favorite of his.
