On a Mountain Side (Day 5 Mid Afternoon)

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"It seems you two compliment each other." Silas replied his smile perhaps a little playful. "Or at least try and take good care of each other."

"Que said you've spent quite a lot of tiem together?"

[Eir]

With a soft laugh, "it took some time to convince him to come out from under Master Chriala's robe. You think he's awkward now? But we've known each other for," Eir thought for a moment, "almost ten years now. We hang out a lot."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I can tell, honestly I thought you two were dating after the first few times I saw you two together." It had seemed as likely an explanation as anything. Not that trainees should be dating, but these things happened from time to time. "I suppose that sort of closeness develops after ten years or so though."

[Eir]

"What?" Eir turned bright pink and sputtered for a moment, "why would..? He's like a brother." A very attractive brother, granted, but she'd never really thought of him as a boy before. Not until recently, which reminded her that Silas was also a boy and she blushed even brighter.

"Ah!" He turned away hopefully giving Pixie a few moments to compose herself. "I dunno, you two just looked really close, and you really didn't look like siblings?" He really should be more careful about who he says what too. "You were sitting together during orientation too, pretty close togetehr in all."

"I likely shouldn't jump to conclusions like that though. Sorry, Pixie."

[Eir]

“Well, he is a nagai and I’m arkanian, so we’re kinda opposites, looks-wise. It’s not like we’re family, though, Master Chriala didn’t adopt me officially or anything.” Eir unfastened her water bottle and took a drink, being adult was proving more difficult than it had looked.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I see." He glanced towards the young woman to see if she had recovered from her pink streak. "I dunno, maybe I thought you two looked good together too."

"Not that, that really matters." Silas paused letting the silence linger for a moment. "We should change the subject shouldn't we?"

[Eir]

Eir tapped her claws on the water bottle, “probably; besides, maybe we can find some goats or something higher up the path?”

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Do you like goats?" Silas asked with a raised eyebrow as he continued up the path. There was nothing at all bad about being alone with the girl in a secluded spot right?

[Eir]

“Sure, goats are interesting. Lots of things are interesting. Goats that live in rocky areas like this have rough undersides to their hooves so they don’t slip, and they’re not hard like non-mountain goats. They have kinda rubbery hooves, they’re like shock absorbers.” If Eir had any qualms about being out here with a boy, she wasn’t showing it.

"Huh, that is pretty neeat." silas replied, his eyes scanning the distance as they climed higher into the foothills. "I suppose it makes sense though as far as evolutionary adaptations go though, they probably help them absorb falls, and stick to slippery slopes." Which was pretty cool now that he thought about it.

"More common goat hooves would probably break under the same circumstances."

[Eir]

Eir nodded eagerly, agreeing with Silas’ observations, “plus, they can jump really far, which would be super bad for their joints.”

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"That makes me wonder if force leaping is bad for your joints." Silas said thoughtfully. "I mean I'd assume the force compensated for that kind of thing, but for the most part we aren't made to go jumping around like that."

Still it's not like Master Ogrus had bad knees.

[Eir]

Eir’s eyes went a little wide, “you can do that?” Somewhere in her brain a train of thought was leaving the station, I wonder if I could get joint scans of Masters who’ve used Force jump and compare?

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"No." He shook his head. "Well, I can make myself stronger though, and that helps he jump a little higher. It's not like a force leap or anything though."

[Eir]

“That’s still pretty neat.” Eir thought for a bit, “it’s really amazing all the different ways we know how to utilise the Force.”

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Thanks." He flashed a grin. "It is pretty near that most of us are good at different things." Pretty useful too now that he thought about it.

"Anything cool you can do? Other then sensing things?" She had mentioned that earlier.

[Eir]

“Master Murah noticed my interest in medicine, and has been coaching me on using the Force to heal minor wounds. It’s fascinating really, you can see the healing process, it just happens a lot faster. The blood building threads of collagen across a cut,” she began gesturing with her hands, “how the two edges of the wound are pulled together. Force healing is good at preventing keloid scarring because it happens so quickly.”

"That does sound pretty neat. I've worked with Master Murah on some things, but not on healing. It seems like it would be a good thing to know though, both for healing yourself and healing others."

Much more useful then being stronger in a lot of ways. "I've kinda wanted to study regular medicine too. But I've not really had the chance."

Eir clapped her hands together, “it’s so cool, I was studying the vascular system of lekku the other day, I can send you a copy of the paper I was reading on the effects of aneurysms on lekku and Twilek rehabilitation for lekku injuries.”
