On a Mountain Side (Day 5 Mid Afternoon)

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I'm glad you like it." He repleid with a wide grin, he didn't seem to mind her claws, he'd spent his life around people with head tails, and tendrils, and all kinds of ther things after all. "I think it suits him a bit too, he needed something a bit flashy, and he'd good looking enough to pull something like that off."

"As for wearing somethign cute, I was thinkign about that." He paused thoughtfully. "I was wondering if all of us trainees might have time enough to get together after we graduate, have a bit odf a celebration? I'm not sur ewe will, but it might not hurt to ask the masters."

[Eir]

"One last hurrah before our Masters scatter us to the four corners of the known galaxy? That could work," she agreed. "Dunno if I'd get a whole new outfit just for one party, though." A thought occurred to her, and she swung her rucksack around to her front and dug around inside briefly, it was apparent that whatever she kept in there wasn't organised in any way, shape, or form, the contents jumbling about as she looked for something.

She drew out a scrap of something thick but flexible, showing it to Silas; it was a sample swatch of a material used in armour making, in dark stealth grey, "I was able to get a really good deal on materials thanks to the ithorian guy we helped last night."

"Why not?" Silas asked with a grin. "Most of us are at an age where we still have some growing to do after all, so having a outfit we only wear once or twice isn't that bad, and when we're done with it we can donate it for others to wear. Unnless there is some sentimental value and we want to keep it."

As Pixie dipped into her backpack he paused to watch. "You really keep a lot of stuff in there don't you?" He asked pausing to have a look at the material she pulled out. "That's good stuff, flexible but tough. Probably a bit better at disperising physical blows then blaster fire, but it will do for both." His lips curled into a warm smile. "You have a good eye for materials for being new at this."

[Eir]

"is it cheating if I did my research first?" she asked playfully. "I got a bit lost when they started talking about friction coefficients and tensile dispersion of impacts, but this stuff seemed good." She closed the bag and slung it back into place, "not really, I just don't like leaving stuff behind, so my toolkit and ration bars and stuff are all in here."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Nah." He repleid with a grin. "There is no ignorance, there is knowledge, after all. Studying is obviously the coorrect thing to do." Ot at least it had alwqays seemed that was the case to him. Even if he didn't stufy enough. "You're right though, the first time you read some of that stuff, it's almost like it's in Onderian."

"Always ready to go then?" He asked raising a eyebrow. "I suppose there is some wisdom in that."

[Eir]

Eir shrugged and looked away, “that’s one way to put it,” she’d been at the Temple long enough to have broken the habit, and yet she hadn’t. “Good application of the code, too bad none of the Masters were here to catch it, that would definitely be worth some points.”

"I'm not really sure we're being graded on points." Silas replied with a light laugh. "But yeah, I suppose it is a pretty good application."

Seeing her store her stuff away he started walking again, though he wasn't really in any hurry. "A out the trials though, how do you think you're doing so far?"

[Eir]

Screwing up her nose, "maybe my brain is playing tricks on me, but I don't think I've properly connected with the Force since I found out about the trials. It's like there's so much noise in my head, y'know? I mean, I'm doing okay with the lightsaber stuff, and the test of knowledge stuff, but that's all just," she groped for the word, "accessory."

The young mans lips curled into a comforting smile, or at least he hoped it was comforting. "I'm not sure the Masters would agree that any part of our training is just a accessory, Pixie."

"But I can understand the frustration, I've got some problems with it myself. So many of the other students seem to be great at sensing the life around them for example, and I just cant manage to get a handle in that."

[Eir]

"I could do it okay, when it didn't matter," she'd even been refining her sensitivity to the Force as part of her defensive technique, "but now it matters to everything, and it's like," she waved her hands vaguely. "Have you ever been doing something, something you've done a million times, and you could do it in your sleep, and then suddenly your brain goes 'hey, whatcha doing' and you forget how to do something really simple? It's like that."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I think I know exactly what you're talking about." Silas replied, his mind looking back on the volleyball match from earlier. This really wasn't the time to think about all of that though, and he shook his head to banish the thoughts.

"I'm not sure what kind of advice I can give you on it though, other then to keep trying. Patience goes a long way with this kind of thing." He mused thoughtfully. "I know I'm still getting used to what I learned oon our trip over."

[Eir]

"I mean," her tone turned half-joking, "short of falling to the dark side, I don't think you can actually fail at being a Jedi, right?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I'm really not sure." Silas replied with a laugh. "Anywys." He flashed a grin in her direction. "I bet you'll do just fine, as I said I don't think the Masters are scoring us on points or something like that. But something more abstract, like our adherance to the codes. They want to find out in which areas we need to grow, so they can better assign a knight to us."

[Eir]

Eir stretched and rolled her shoulders, "yeah. I guess nerves are to be expected, too, so I imagine we won't be judged too hard on our mental constipation."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I'd hope not." Silas repleid with a chuckle. "Though honestly I think there are other things I worry abotu being judged on a bit more." He frowned softlly. "You know, like running off to save Reg and the others. It was the right thing to do, but I think a lot of people would also call it reckless."

[Eir]

"Reckless was what Reg did," she countered. Raising a hand, she began ticking the points off on her fingers, "we informed-" Eir caught herself before 'the Masters', "-a Knight, there seven of us, we had equipment, and we totally saved those kids. You only got shot a little bit."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I think the part where I'm not even a padawan and got shot several times is what most people would call reckless.' Silas replied, though there was a little bit of teasing in his tone. "You are right though, he did prepare and take what precautions we could, it was pretty amazing we got through it as easily as we did."

[Eir]

"Maybe we are a little bit awesome," Eir chuckled. The Force had guided their shots, at least that's what she believed, "did you get any awkward questions when you got back?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

He shook his head. "I think the masters were more concerned with threating my injuries then they were about how I got them. But then I think Knight Farissa got the brunt of the questions meant for me."

"The wounds have healed up pretty well too." He rubbed a place along the left side of his ribs. "I didn't even get any scars." Which was honestly a little disappointing, scars were cool.

[Eir]

Eir huffed, "shame. Imagine that story. How did I get this one? Oh, that's nothing, I just saved a bunch of kids from slavers when I was sixteen. No big deal."
