[D7 EE] Glade to Meet You

[Eir]

With limited time left on Auratera, Eir felt an odd sort of urging to return to the Ithorian restaurant they’d had dinner at when they first arrived, and see Glade once again. She made sure to mention it to Zizzy, whose ithorian was significantly better than Eir’s, but the invitation was extended to everyone in the Jedi group.

Yesterday had brought her sense of in case you don’t return back more powerfully than ever before, and she jogged the pack on her shoulder to reassure herself it was there before pushing the door open and entering the establishment.

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy was there with her. She wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to speak to Glade again, and maybe the young Ithorian would want to join the Jedi?

"This was a good idea Eir, let's see if anyone's home!" She followed her in, wondering if they would have time for a few bugs.

[Hatoful GM]

The Ithorian father was there. Sweeping. Veeeeeeery slowly.

He blinked as the two Jedi came in. "Oh, hello there." His voice came from the synthesizer on his neck. "It's good to see you again."

Another brief pause. "You want dinner? Our treat again. We're all still grateful for your help."

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Oh hello! Actually, we were hoping we could speak to Glade, is she here?" Zizzy looked at Eir and shrugged. "I wouldn't say no to a few bugs though."

[Eir]

“Yes, please,” Eir answered, glancing about.

[Hatoful GM]

"Sure, sure. I'll send her out. I'll be in the kitchen for a bit, so she can even borrow the translator." He began the slow walk back towards the kitchen. Halfway there, he realized he was still carrying the broom, and had to walk back to put it in a closet off to the side. The walk began again.

Glade came out almost as soon as her father had made it to the kitchen; it seemed she moved much faster than her father. "Hello!" She hummed. "It's good to see you again, Zizzy, Eir." She shuffled, looking at Eir. "Should I use the translator? I thought maybe you speak Ithorian, but I couldn't tell." She was using it now, the device around her throat repeating her words in basic, sophisticated enough to match her pitch and cadence.

Master Chriala, finished with her business outside, came in to the restaurant as well. Her head tilted to the side as she surveyed the area.

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Hi Glade, it's good to see you!" She switched back to basic then. "Actually, maybe basic would be good?" A glance was cast at Eir to see if her friend was more comfortable with that.

[Eir]

Apologetically, “it would be easier for me,” she brightened as an idea occurred to her, “but I need the practice. Why don’t we go without, and if I get lost, then you can use it?” Eir could always convey more complex ideas to Zizzy to translate, if needed.

[Hatoful GM]

Reaching up, Glade turned off the device. "Okay!" She said.

She looked back and forth between them. "It's good to see you again! I had a feeling I would." She looked curiously up at Master Chriala, standing behind them.

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Oh Glade, this is Master Chriala. Master Chriala, this is Glade." Zizzy gave Eir a wide smile when she decided to try speaking Ithorian. "You'll get even better at it the more you use it."

[Eir]

Oh, how rude, the girl chided herself, especially as Zizzy beat her to the introductions. She would have gone on to elaborate about how Chriala was the one who introduced Eir to the Order, but didn’t quite feel up to the challenge.

[Chriala Hulis]

"I am glad I thought to brush up on my Ithorian before I came here." Chriala said dryly.

She bent down, drawing more even with Glade. "It is very nice to meet you, Glade." She said.

[Hatoful GM]

Glade smiled, with both mouths, as usual. "Nice to meet you too!"

She looked around. "You're all staying for dinner, right? We got some new bugs in today!"

[Eir]

“Yum,” Eir answered, as the Master hadn’t weighed in on the question of Glade using the translator, she’d assumed that Chriala was competent with the ithorian tongue, and that was probably a mistake. “Master Chriala saw me when I was near your age, Glade, she brought me to the Jedi.”

[Hatoful GM]

"She did?" She looked at Chriala, who was still lowering herself. "Is that what she's here for now?" Her tone was still largely excited, but there was a note of concern in it.

Chriala seemed content to let Eir and Zizzy answer the question.

[Eir]

Eir had been wary too, like a cornered alley cat. “I don’t know,” the answer was simple, honest, “is that something you want?”

[Hatoful GM]

"I think so." The lips of her mouths moved, as though she was chewing on something. "It... it's a little bit scary."

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy nodded. "Change can seem scary at first. We get used to the way things are. But there is a whole galaxy of possibilities out there Glade." She smiled reassuringly and reached out to touch the Ithorian's hand.

"You can ask us anything. And the decision is yours of course."

[Eir]

“I was scared,” she’d forgotten the word for ‘too’, “but Master Chriala helped me.”
