[Day 5 - MA] Jedi Cop II: Jedi Harder

Byron approached the location where Luc said his wife worked and apparently the last place she was known to be, before she vanished. The Killiks were thankfully not at fault, and now he suspected a far darker force behind the kidnappings.
Time for Jedi Cop to get to work.

The research facility was a white building surrounded by water, but it had a sturdy bridge leading to its entrance. It wasn't hard to guess what they were researching here, judging by the logo of some kind of fish with a splash of water, and the large glass windows underwater that were visible from the walkway on the surface.
Stepping into the lobby, it was neat and clean, with some of the pleasant music from the Newsbright-station playing over the speakers. A female twi'lek was working away at a computer at the front-desk.

Byron approached the twi'lek and said, "Good afternoon, I'm with the Jedi order and I am looking into a matter about a missing woman that worked here?" he offered. He then explained about the disappearance of Luc's wife and where she was last seen and when.

The twi'lek had a name-tag that said "Jana", and she listened to Byron speak patiently. "Well, it was the strangest thing, master Jedi. Lya left work like any normal day when she was done for the day, and... she just didn't come home from what we heard from her husband," she said in that pleasant sing-song cadence the twi'lek were known for. "As I said to the police and to mr. Jierre, it was just a normal day. I wish I knew more to help, master Jedi."

"Is there any security footage of her leaving... on this normal day? How did she normally get home? Any other strange happenings around here?" he asked in rapid succession calmly.

"Lya would usually walk, or take a water-cab if the weather was bad, but it wasn't a rain-day when she disappeared." She gave a nod and draped her lekku over her shoulder as she tapped away at her console, which showed the camera-footage of the lobby. He could see a middle-aged woman dressed in summer-clothes walking through the lobby and waving goodbye to Jana at the front-desk, before stepping through the front doors.
"It's all so weird with these disappearances. Apart from all that gambling stuff going on, Dewbright has very low crime rate..."

“It definitely seems like a safe place, which makes this all the more surprising. So she normally walked,” he said thoughtfully.
“Given the weather that day she probably would have walked home, in that direction,” he gestured towards where he believed she lived assuming Luc had filled him in on that.

While Luc hadn't given the 'Jedi' his address, he'd said which part of town he lived in. So it was about 45 minute walk for his wife to walk home.

"
Oui, it's a very safe place," Jana said with a nod. "Now even I am scared to walk home alone. Don't want to be kidnapped by some scary creeper right off the street. To think even this neighbourhood would go bad." She sighed.

Byron replied, “The Jedi are here to make this place safe again, we will do everything we can to bring some normalcy back into your lives.”
“I thank you for your time, be safe and may the Force be with you.”
He nodded and then walked outside and decided to retrace the most likely route she would have taken to head to that side of town.

"Have a nice day, sir. Don't get yourself into danger," Jana offered in return to the departing young man.

Ecven with the fate stacked against him, Byron somehow finds a a likely path the woman took as he walked looking around carefully to see if he noticed anything out of place. Though he figured he would find nothing since the she went some time ago… but he had to hope.

It was a nice long walk, bypassing the busiest places of Dewbright while also staying close to some of the waterways. On the way is a park with several pools and fountains, with hedges and pruned bushes. Eventually, the park-area gives way to the residential area that Luc and Lya lived in, which was a fairly large area with several nice houses with big front yards and picket fences.

Byron took a seat and just listened to the world and relaxed as he tried to piece together apossible scenario of events. If the Sith were involved they would need to take her somewhere and obviously their residences would not be a good choice.
He frowned, Jedi Cop was best at punching and looking handsome but actually having to solve mysteries… well he wasn’t Jedi Investigator, he was Jedi Cop. Still he considered given the length of the trip and he location whoever did it must have been quick and quiet.
OOC: Guess look for locals or security staff.

There didn't seem to be any security folks about, but there was enough locals walking around doing their daily business.

Byron rose and approached one of the locals and said, "pardon my intrusion, my name is Byron and I am with the Jedi order and I was investigating a local disappearance of a woman. I was hoping you had some time to answer a few questions?"

The pair, two humans in their twenties, stopped to listen to Byron.
"Jedi? Oh righ, we saw that on the news today." One of them nodded.
"How can we help?"

Byron replied that he was looking into the disappearance of Luc’s wife and that she usually walked home this way and described her based on what he saw. He asked if they had seen anything odd recently or heard of any other missing folks beyond Luc’s wife.

"Oh yeah, we've heard the news reports about missing people."
"Didn't old Moss go disappear too?"
"Huh, yeah, that was the strangest thing. This old Ithorian, who lives on our street, was suddenly gone... was it last week, or the week before? Anyway, he didn't strike me as the type to just run away someday even he likes going on walks. Quite the sporty old fellow actually. But who would want to kidnap some old Ithorian anyway?"
The pair shrugged.
"Don't know about this Lya Jierre though, sorry."

"Tell me more about Moss, was he taken from his home?" he asked.

"Not that we know of...? I don't think there was any police reports about a possible abduction, either."
"Yeah. He just didn't come home one day. Went out on one of his usual trips... hmm... I think it must've been his sunday trip, since he did bring his bag with him. He only does that when he's going walking along the foot of Erkeere Ridge. There's this very nice trail you can follow along the base of the mountain. Not a steep path or anything since it stays at the base. It's got flags and such to follow so you won't get lost."
