Wake up it's a beautiful morning [D4, EM] (Open)

[Zizzy Roosh]

As most of her fellow students rushed off to explore, Zizzy elected to stay in the hotel that the Jedi had arranged for them. There was something she felt she had to do. It was time. Or at least she felt something weird and decided it was that. It could have been the second bowl of noodles.

Reaching into her belongings she pulled out the now shiny holocron and admired it for a moment. It was old, but not too unlike other ones she had seen in the archives.

She focused out the connection that she had made with it, accidentally, back on Coruscant. Perhaps with the extra force energy swirling around this planet it would finally be time for the gatekeeper to say hello?

Having spent a fair amount of time with a cube over the past week, Zizzy had gotten a stronger awareness of it. She still couldn't sense it, not exactly, but the Force bond that she had accidentally created became a tangible thing. Sometimes, it felt especially strong, as though there were a consciousness that was trying to reach out to her.

Suddenly, that feeling grew stronger. The surfaces of the holocron began to glow blue.



The image of a young man with tousled blond hair appeared. At a glance he looked to be about Byron's age, and was dressed in traditional Jedi robes, a lightsaber on his belt. The figure blinked, giving Zizzy a gentle smile.

"Hello there." The voice seemed to come from the image rather than the cube; a trick of light and sound, perhaps? A thoughtful crease appeared on the image's forehead; with his open, honest face, it was easy to recognize, even at no more than a foot in height. "Have we met? I'd swear that I knew you from somewhere." The accent was corewards; perhaps Coruscant, perhaps not.

Zizzy gave the figure a warm and genuine smile. "It's so nice to see you. I suppose we have met. From a certain point of view. We haven't been introduced though. I'm Zizzy Roosh. I'm doing my trials to become a Padawan." Her tendrils oriented slightly towards the image, trying to perceive how it was doing that trick with the sound. "How do you feel?"

It seemed that the hologram was a very sophisticated one, manipulating not only light but also sound, with no need for speakers.



"Zizzy." The figure smiled. "It's very nice to meet you. Officially, I mean. My name..." A brief startled frown. "...I'm Camlen." Relief flickered over the small, even features.

Camlen's eyebrows went up. "Me, I'm fine. Or... huh." Once more, the forehead creased; he looked down, studying his arms. "I'm in a holocron, aren't I. Well. Huh." He chuckled. "Sorry. This is a new experience for me. From a certain point of view."

[Zizzy Roosh]

She beamed back at him. "Haha, well I'm delighted to meet you Camlen. Yes, you're a holocron. Or, in a holocron. How does that work exactly I wonder?" She tapped her chin with a long finger.

"I've not had much experience of holocrons outside of books, and occasionally being shown them in the archives. I mean I've read a lot about them, but you're way cooler. Do you remember the last time you were activated? Awake? I guess we'll figure out the terminology together!"

Camlen flashed her a quick grin. "Thank you, Zizzy. You seem pretty cool yourself. You're a Mikkian, aren't you? I've never met one before, not personally." His lips quirked. "I guess this conversation is a lot of firsts, huh?"

Another thoughtful frown. "I don't know. The terminology or the answer. Ummm..." The look of concentration deepened. "I think this may be the first time I've been awake. At least, I don't remember anything since..." His frown grew deeper. "Sorry. It's really weird to talk about myself this way."

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Oh. Oh! Well then it's good that I found you. Well, we found you, my friends and I. There was this Gree map and it led into the works and there was a big droid and it was guarding you. I think we connected when I got you out."

She gave him a sympathetic look. "Yes. It must be weird for you. Oh, and yes I'm a Mikkian. What year do you think it is, or doesn't it work that way?"

[Hatoful GM]

"Gree?" Camlen blinked. "That sounds interesting. Down in the works, huh? I've always wanted to go there." His lips quirked. "It sounds as though I got the chance."

He tilted his head to the side, regarding Zizzy. "But I do remember... something, recently. Guess that must have been you." He smiled.

"Year?" Camlen frowned. "I don't really have any sense of it. I can tell you that at the time I was-" a brief confused look, "-created, the Republic was just starting to muster and push back against the Sith. Is the war going well? Don't suppose we won, did we?"

That would probably place it about six years ago; quite recent.

[Zizzy Roosh]

"I guess you did Camlen! The Works was pretty grimy. There were puddles of ooze and things running around in the distance. Also a Gree puzzle and robot protecting you." She tapped her chin and looked off into the distance.

"Hmm, let's see. The Republic and Sith are now in a period of peace after about five years of fighting and a year or so since the peace was brokered on Nar Shaddaa." She gave him a funny look. "Your holocron looked like it had been down there longer than six years though. And, Camlen, were you some sort of Jedi prodigy? You seem pretty young for a holocron."

[Hatoful GM]

"Sorry I missed it." Camlen murmured.

He smirked. "I bet you say that to all the holocrons, don't you?" His expression grew more serious. "But no. I wasn't a prodigy. My master encoded me on this because-"

His mouth opens, but no words came out. A brief confused frown, and then an apologetic shrug. "Sorry. It seems like I'm not allowed to share that information yet." He brushed one hand through his hair.

[Zizzy Roosh]

She giggled at his quip. " You remind me of Master Orgus. He's another funny human, maybe you knew him?"

A frown crossed her face when he was stopped mid-conversation. "So, you might be allowed to share it eventually, but not now? That must be weird." She nodded. "I guess it's like that dream I keep having." Her tendrils all twitched simultaneously and took a moment to settle.

"So, is there information that you are allowed to share? I'm sorry if that's a weird question."

He smiled at the compliment, but his eyebrows went up in obvious surprise. "I knew of Master Orgus, but I didn't know him personally. He was off with the Republic Military while I was still in training. It sounded rather impressive, actually." He sighed.

Watching Zizzy closely, Camlen gave her a curious look at the mention of a dream, but he didn't press. Yet.

Wincing slightly, he shook his head. "It's very strange. I know that I know something... but every time I try to really concentrate on it, it slips away. I get a glimpse, but before it gets to my mouth..." He shook his head again.

"Sorry. I'll do the best I can." He said, offering her a smile. "What did you want to know? I think I can tell you about anything except this knowledge I was imparted with. And... maybe you can let me get in a question from time to time?"

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Hah! That's exactly what Master Orgus would say." She beamed at Camlen, or his image, or however it worked.

"It's a deal." She thought about what to ask. "Huh, what do I want to know? Pretty much everything I guess. Well, I'm just a trainee at the moment preparing to become a Padawan, hopefully. The force shows me visions of the future, and now I can do a bit of telekinesis. I really like learning about things, Lore is my favourite. But mainly I just want to help people, and, well life." She stood up and stretched, walking to the window.

"We're on Auratera for a few days and then we travel to Ilum. I guess we'll be finding crystals and making our lightsabers when we get there. Anyway, have you got any advice for a hopefully-soon-to-be Padawan?"

[Hatoful GM]

Camlen chuckled. "If you keep comparing me to Master Orgus, I'm going to get a swelled head." He smirked, just a little. "I'm not saying you should stop, mind. Just giving you fair warning."

He listened as she spoke, turning to watch as she went to the window. Except for the limited ability to move on his own, he seemed rather like a very short slightly translucent person. "Well, you've guessed my first couple of questions. I was going to ask about you."
His expression brightened. "Hmmm... I wasn't a prodigy, but I was a good student. Lore was one of my interests, too."

"Hmmm..." Camlen brushed back a lock of his hair. "As it happens, I was only made Padawan myself about a year and a half ago. Or... I guess seven and a half, now, but most of that doesn't count." He frowned. "I would say... everything's a test. Or, what I mean is, from the start of the trials, the masters are looking at every aspect of your life. Just make sure that you're doing everything in accordance with Jedi principles." He chuckled. "It sounds hard, but it's not, really. I'll bet you do fine."

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Oh, nice. I'm glad you like lore too, we can revise together! Oh right, but we already did that test. I guess I'd like to know more about Xenobiology, and Medicine too. What else? Well, my senses are pretty sharp." She smiled. "Thanks for the words of wisdom Padawan Camlen. That's actually really helpful. It is what I'm trying to do. And the Masters and Knights are really kind. Oh, hey, are you allowed to tell me who your Master is, or was, I guess?"

Camlen ran a hand through his hair again. "Oh, I was pretty good at Xenobiology. I could probably help you study." He frowned. "I'm... not sure if I can reference books like this, though." The thought seemed to throw him off a bit.

He shook his head, his blond hair tousling. His mouth open, then shut, his eyebrows going up in pleased surprised. "Yes, I can, apparently. His name is Master Xho, a Cerean." His lips quirked. "Perhaps not quite active enough for my taste, but a good master."

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Oh, well the librarian gave me this lovely book. It's called The Living Force. It's probably as good a place to start as any." Zizzy walked over to her things and pulled out the tome, opening it to the first page. "See."

"I guess Cereans are typically very scholarly. Did you want to be off patrolling the galaxy and helping in the war? What was your primary training in, a Lightsaber form or something else?"

(OOC: Has Zizzy heard of or met Master Xho?)

"The Living Force? You must have impressed her." Camlen leaned forward, narrowing his eyes. "I can read it, actually, when it's close enough. How peculiar. It's... an unusual experience."

Her first question made him chuckle. "You see right through me. Ah..." He looked down at his partially translucent hands. "Pun not intended. But yes. I trained in Niman. And I did want to be off patrolling, and helping in the war. Master Xho and I didn't quite see eye to eye on that.

(Xho is not a master at the temple, currently, that's for sure. Lore:Hard (◇◇◇) with 1 setback due to high secrecy to recognize. Otherwise, guess there's research to be done!)

[Zizzy Roosh]

"Oh man, these jokes... Niman huh? Neat, I like that form. And Soresu too. But I'm not really that great with a lightsaber. Not yet anyway." She did seem pleased that he could read the book too.

"We can read through it together if you like? It's pretty dense, there's a lot of material." She flipped a few pages, stopping when she realised the name Xho did mean something to her.

Guess I did hear about him somewhere!

Camlen grinned. "Hey, you can't blame me for that one. I did say 'pun not intended'." His expression exuded innocence.

His expression grew more serious, and he gave Zizzy a nod. "I think I might like that, Zizzy. It sounds.." he frowned thoughtfuly, "-quite nice, actually. It's not that I was lonely or anything, but..." He shrugged. "It's hard to explain. But yes, I'd like that very much."

Zizzy can only remember bits and pieces about Master Xho. The Cerean part checks out. She also remembers that he was a brilliant scholar; she probably saw his name on a paper somewhere. Something to do with Astronomy, maybe? Nothing recently published though, she's pretty sure.
