D4, ME, Silas's room- The crafter's apprentice

[Taime Jorel]

He cocks his head to the side. "Not really. We've had a pretty decent amount of training. And they're not toys, so its not like we will be playing with them or turning it on at any moment. Its a weapon. It needs to be respected as such."

He finishes the last stitch on the pocket. ""Yes! Did it!" Then, looking at Silas, he pauses. "Are you?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Maybe?" He didnt sound quite certain. "Though I think it has less to do with the weapon itself then what we'll do with it."

He swallowed hard. "I dunno? I guess I just know lightsabers are deadly, and while I know we don't wield them without reason. The idea of killing someone? I don't know what to do with it."

He nods, putting the sewing down for a moment. "That's a good thing though. We should never be excited or wanting to take a life. A lightsaber is our last resort, as Jedi. It sounds like you'll treat it that way, instead of enjoying swinging it around for your own amusement."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I suppose so. I hmguess it just seems like some of the other students are more ready for it?" He sighed and shook his head. "I really shouldn't worry about all that though."

[Taime Jorel]

He nods. "We're all at different places. That's the point. Jedi are a family. We help each other. You won't be alone."

A little unsure, but thinking it might help, he gently reached a hand out to touch Silas's shoulder, unless he moved.

"Thanks, Que." Silas replied softly though his hands hadn't stopped there work.

"I suppose I wasn't all too worried about it until we went to rescue those kids. I actually shot people then, my blaster wasnt even on stun or anything "

[Taime Jorel]

He nods. "You did what you had to do in the moment. Now you know you can do it again. But those things aren't without cost."

He ponders for a moment. "You know who might be good for you to talk to? Master Chriala."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Yeah?" He pondered that for a few moments, he usually talked to Master Ogrus.

"Maybe I'll do that." She was the momest of the Masters, and could maybe teach him a few things about all this. "Do you talk with Master Chriala often?"

[Taime Jorel]

He nods. "She..was the one who found me. And brought me to the Jedi. She's been my guardian for many years."

He shakes his head. "But that's not why I say to consult her. She's...got a gift for talking about those sorts of dilemmas and helping you see the larger picture."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I'll keep that in mind." He replied with a soft smile. "As you said it's a good idea." Getting to know Master Chriala better wouldn't be a bad thing either.

"I'll see if she is available in the next couple days with a chat."

[Taime Jorel]

He nods, putting the pocket near Silas. "What should I do now?"

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Oh, why dont you look through that case over there, and find some buttons you like while I attach this pocket." Picking out stuff like that was just as important as anything else.

"You should have some say in its design after all."

[Taime Jorel]

It was Silas's project, so he was happy to do what was needed, but it still felt like a lot. "What do you think would look good? Blues maybe or silver? Or maybe a shimmery black...That sounds cool." He dug through the box, enjoying how the buttons felt on his fingers.

"Shimmery black or silver I think." He looked at the coat. "We have enough blue as is." Not that a lot of blue was a bad thing.

"Rounds ones are probably the easiest to fasten, but if there is a cool design you like feel free to grab it."

[Taime Jorel]

Taime kept fishing up buttons, finding many of them lovely, but struggling to choose. "I don't know. Ease is important. But this garment isn't for every day. So should I go for something flashier? What if I'm on a settlement where they prefer something more understated? Maybe shine isn't so good." He said, in a running stream of muttering to himself.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Well the shine will make a statement, which isn't really a bad thing." Silas mused glancing over at the other boy. "A more conservative shape would likely be enough to say you are down to earth though. At least a little."

[Taime Jorel]

He ponders it, holding four different possibilities in his hands. One is a plainish round button, with a slight silver sheen. One is a more oval button with a delicate design etched into it. The third is a plain black button, utterly mundane. And the 4th is some kind of shimmery golden plate or something, but its quite shiny.

"Which one do you think is best?" He says, holding his full hands out to Silas.

Que wasn't the only one who needed to ponder it for a few moments, as Silas took a few moments looking between the two.

"I like these." He offered at last, pointing first at the ovals with designs, and then the flashy golden plate.

Taime pondered it. "Let's do the ovals. That's a bit bold, but not too much. Gives me more options with this outfit."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"I like it." Silas replied with a grin. The gold probably would of been a little bit much, but sometimes you just had to go for it. "You think you'll find a reason to wear it anytime soon?"
