“Perhaps she wanted the Order to know what happened to them,” perhaps she expected someone to come looking for her, as she had gone looking for Jessa. “Predators may have taken the bodies,” Eir suggested.

“Predators and scavengers tend to be messy, and the communicator and lightsaber seem relatively untouched. No bloodstains or signs of violence,” he added looking it over unless he missed something.

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Well, there was a collapse, maybe this was left on the other side?" He looked around. "Though honestly it feels more like a memorial then anything like me."

"Like a third party came and set this here to remind people of the incident."

There didn't seem to be much else of interest. A few scraps of cloth is all. The cave does not appear to have been disturbed for some time, except for the melting.

Byron sighed and said, "Well let's get this back to the Temple."

He returned to the Speeder.

Zanja had been poking around the scene with a pensive expression while the others talked. "Jedi Sunlian came all the way out here to find Jessa. She wouldn't just give up and let her die. I bet she used the saber to try to break her free. That would explain the transmitter, yeah? Jessa still needed a pickup. " She circled back toward the transmitter. "You lot are better with machines than I am. How long d'you think this thing has been here?"

[Eir]

"Judging by the make and the state of this thing," she turned the transmitter in her hands, "a long while. Like maybe decades long," she hazarded a guess.

[Zanja]

"So somebody at the temple might know what happened. Whether this Jessa got back, like."

"It'd probably be a long shot, but we can try." Silas replied as he started to thaw. "Though I think the Archives at the temple might be a better place to look?"

"Seems like the kind of story someone would remember. There's not such a lot of Jedi around here that you could lose one without people bein' bothered." Zanja leaned across the console to call up the nav system again. Time to head home, thank goodness.

"Anyway, whatever the transmitter was left out here for, nobody else will go on this wild mynock chase again." She nodded at the device in Eir's lap.

"We were meant to find it and bring this matter full circle," Byron added softly.

[Eir]

Eir nodded solemnly, somewhat surprised by Byron’s comment. “Let’s get back and close the circle.”

"Lets." silas agreed with a grin, as he moved to the drives seat. "What's the quickest way home, Di?" This is what the navigator was good for, right?

[Zanja]

"Follow the canyon for the first two klicks, then up and over the ridges." Zanja looked up from the map and pointed. "We don't have to go beacon to beacon, so we can cut straight home."

[Silas Myles Pearson]

"Alright." Silas replied before setting off. "I'm going to be busy with my lightsaber after we get back... So if you guys go looking into this you'll let me know what you find out right?"

Back at the base...

Corvin was there to meet the speeder full of students. He gave them an approving nod as they disembarked.

"Looks like most of the beacons are back online. Good job." He grunted. "Anything to report?"

[Eir]

Eir clambered out of the vehicle carefully so as to not to drop the transmitter. “The beacons were picking up a signal from this,” she held out the device. She was extremely cold and felt on the brink of collapse.

"There was a old lightsaber with it too." Silas explained. He thougth Byron had grabbed it ot he'd hand it over. "Belonged to knight Ericca Sunlian, I think she said her name was. Or at least that's who I think it belonged to."

"Jedi Knight Erica Sunlian," Eir confirmed, "she was looking for a missing Lietenant Jessa Kaeden. The transmitter had recorded her final hours."
