Fourtynine times (Day 3 Early Night)

by Silas Myles Pearson
Silas was as ready as he would ever be for this fight, decked out in his new armor and with his training saber by his side. Part of him wished that he had something a little more lethal at his side, but then again he wasnt sure if he was ready for that.
Eyes wide, he licked his lips and looked at the other members of the group. He still wasn't sure that this was the best plan, but it was too late to back out now.

Zanja was there, skulking in her hawkbat-themed coat. Like Silas, she felt a bit uncertain about the training saber at her side, but what alternative did she have? Though she knew how to handle a blaster, more or less, she really didn't like the things, and anyway she had no means of coming by one legitimately.
If the Force was with Team Hawkbat, they could swoop in and neutralize the situation before anybody needed to get shot. Zanja held out hope, at least.

EDIT: if Esla makes it over here, Zanja will /fade to backup team, having done her bit on mission prep.

Hawkbats rule! That was the image Zizzy did her best to convey. She wasn't convinced that this was the best point for the rescue, although waiting until the spaceport ran the risk of the kids actually getting taken. Maybe Black Sun would be cocky and overconfident on their own turf?
"Okay team. We can do this. Reg is counting on us."
Based on the idea that the Black Sun sleemos would be transporting lots of kids she suggested that they take a look for the likely vehicles. Then she took a deep breath and asked the force for guidance.
D3 EN. Foresee. Any helpful hints from the force?:
1eF 1 Dark Side
She could feel the imbalance here. Probably due to all the bad stuff that had happened here. Still, it seemed important enough to risk. (Spending Destiny to use the DS point and ask the force for some insight).

Opening her senses to the Force, Zizzy's tendrils felt violence, anger, and danger - all in a heavy whirlpool of darkness that would draw her and her friends in. A blaster pistol fired a shot, and a body slumped to the ground, but that was only the beginning... before it was over and the dark receeded. (Zizzy takes 1 point of Conflict)

Being very into the part of being the Red Hawbats leader, Farissa arrived in a
get-up that probably would have earned a very disapproving glare from Master Jaric, riding a stylish swoop bike that would've made Master Orgus say that "swooping is bad".
"Hey, kids," she said as she dismounted her ride. "Got some stuff for you guys - if anyone's interested that is." Farissa patted the trunk on her bike and opened up a small compartement that contained a small amount of blaster pistols. "Might come in handy tonight."

"Heya, Boss!" Silas replied falling into the role of gang member fairly easily, he had been practicing after all. "Ummm...." He offered, as Farissa opened the box of blasters. There was absolutely no way he was distracted by all the cleavage the Jedi knight was showing off. None at all!
"If you think it's a good idea." The young man said, as he finally looked towards the crate. "It might be best to be able to keep some distance."

Esla wasn't here for the whole story but she did know that there were supposed to be slavers and something was wrong. The sabre sparring test was perhaps the extent of the combat she expected while here but she had to go beyond if she wanted to truly set something right. She gingerly joined the group dressed in entirely black and caught with the situation.

Zizzy balled her fists up, digging her nails into her palms. As the vision receded she looked up at Farissa, nodded, and pulled out a blaster pistol. Very obviously and deliberately she set it to stun.
"No heroics unless absolutely necessary gang. Let's try not to have anyone fire a shot." The force can be wrong, sometimes... Right?

by Eir
Eir had managed to borrow some clothes, it had not been easy with her stature. She wasn't the stealthiest, but her size helped, as she padded softly to join the group. The blasters that Farissa showed them seemed to drive home that this wasn't just another trail, and she accepted one of the pistols, holding it close to her thigh, pointing down.
She reached inside herself, then let her senses flow outwards, trying to find a sense of calm in her connection to the Force.

Seeing the others take one, Silas reached forward himself. He really didn't know where he was going to put it, it's not like he had a holster or anything, Still, better to have it just in case.

Esla was in a similar situation regarding the blasters. There were so many of them, did they really need blasters on top of that. After seeing everyone take one, she figured she would do the same. Gingerly, she took one of them and stashed them by her dagger on her belt.

"Right, these are real blasters, kids, not toys. But use them if nescessary," she gave a wary eye to those gathered. Master Jaric would probably disapprove of this, but this was how she had been taught the ropes when she was this age too - and these students needed to learn to fly somehow too. So like a good mama bird, Farissa was ready to give them the nescessary shove out of the nest. "They do come with a stun-setting though, so use that."
She flipped her hair and adjusted her shades up to rest on the crown of her head. "So - storming the Silent Sun Cantina seemed like a bad idea, as it would draw all sorts of unwanted attention, and we'd have to fight a lot of these scumbags. From Zanja's clever recon yesterday though, we learned when they would transport the captives. Yes, captives, so there's more people than just Reg depending on this. Turns out it's a small transport, with not too many of them as they're trying to avoid suspicion by the Security Forces, though I've tipped them off to keep an eye out for them at the spaceport in case we don't succeed."
Farissa took a breather to let that sink in for the young ones.
"We're going to stop them here - as this is the route they'll be taking out of here." With this sector of Coruscant being covered overhead, they'd have to drive through the passages so they wouldn't be able to just fly out over their heads.
"Silas, I'll need you to hijack into the sector's fire control system. It will trigger the fire-doors that will close off this part of the sector, which will trap them inside here." She gave a nod to the young lad. "Rest of us will split up into two teams; Zizzy and Zanja - you two will release the prisoners from the vehicle, while the rest go with me to draw their fire." Farissa gave a reassuring nod to them. "Don't worry, they will probably be aiming for me more, and I'll be sure to take most of their attention off of you, but I'll need you to help me out to do this quickly."

Eir nodded firmly and checked the settings on the blaster, confirming that it was on stun. She didn't fidget or shift her weight, she was still and outwardly calm.

Zizzy looked around the group and nodded, her tendrils floating reassuringly. Her eyes locked on Zanja's as if to say 'we can do this'.
"May the force be with us."

Esla pursed her lip and retrieved the blaster from her belt so that she could fiddle with the settings like she totally knew that there were two settings all along. It's probably the first time she handled such a thing. With any luck, she won't need to fire a single blast. This was for plan B, right?

Zanja stuck a blaster into the waistband of her pants (safety on, because she was going for cool, not stupid), and gave a determined, stubborn sort of nod.
"Got it. I'm ready."

OOC:
So here's how it will go down.
Everyone but Silas will roll Stealth against Easy difficulty (because there's good hiding places) with a Boost die (because you have some time to get into positions).
Silas will be over by the control box, where he can use either Computers against Average difficulty or Mechanics against the same difficulty but with a Setback (Computers is slicing the system and overriding its functions, while Mechanics is tampering with the hardware itself and making it malfunction). The control box is inside a side-room next to the passageway so he is out of sight. It's important that it happens at the right time so that the Black Sun is in position - Farissa will alert you over the comms when it's time and you have two chances to complete your task.
Once the fire-door is closed and the Black Sun's vehicle stops, Farissa will go out to draw their attention and from there we will roll initiative.

Zanja quietly got into position, choosing a less obvious spot to leave the easiest hiding places for the others.

While still wearing a few frilly things, Esla was at least conscientious enough to dress in all black for the occasion of snooping around. She carefully stepped along with the other's lead as they made their way over to position. While she didn't have too much experience of snooping out at night, she had done fairly well to not weigh the team down at least.
