Jedi Academy

Ares was waiting for his companion to join, his heart beating faster than usual. He got his stipend in the morning, so he was looking forward to seeing what he could buy.

Well-dressed for a jedi, almost fashionably so, Ayura Moon arrived after a few minutes of waiting. "Hello... sorry, I had to finish my classes. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long, Ares?"

"No, I have just arrived as well." He smiled at her, feeling happy. He tentatively extended a hand towards her. "How was your class?"

"Eh, the usual," she shrugged nonchalantly. "Master Reikiss often gets into one of his moods and starts ranting, you know. You start with just meditating in the gardens to focus on the life force around you, and suddenly he's off on some rant about how kids these days don't know the difference between Dark Jedi and Sith, and don't get me started on this Grey-thing."

Ayura chuckled and shook her head. "So all in all, as expected. I saw you in the training hall earlier, helping master Jaric with teaching."

"What's a Grey Jedi?" Asked the boy on a confused manner, bfore blushing once again. "Ah yeah. My saber trial went pretty well yesterday. I went up against Master Orgus and Knight Farissand tagged them both!" He was now beaming as he spoke. "I got asked to be an assistant instructor in today's class, and I also got this." He indicated to the sword at his side. "It was used by my father before he got his saber, according to Master Jaric."

"I don't know, really. Jedi who try to be all dark and edgy, like Sith-lite?" she shrugged. It sounded like something like that to her. But her eyes widened as she listened to Ares.

"Wow. That's impressive - two at once. And the sword too!" Ayura marveled briefly at it. "You seem to be doing pretty well - what about today's test?"

"Edgy Jedi.... feels they're missing the point?" Said the youngling in dark clothing and a blade by his side. He suddenly cringed. "Ugh..... not so good. I did manage to get the Jedi code, but most of the rest...." He blushed and looked away. "I am not too smart, let's leave it at that."

"Dont be embarrased," she nudged his side. "You're one of the most skilled students. I don't think the teachers expect us to be good at everything."

"It certainly feels like they expect us to." Ares replied slightly grumpily, but quickly cheered himself up. "I'm really curious where we're going. It's tough to buy supplies without it." He quirked his mouth into a kind of smile. "Though I do have idea what I want to pick up today."

"Maybe preparing for the unknown is a test too?" Ayura mused speculatively... " Oh? What are you buying?"

"You'll see..." Ares replied mysteriously, looking for a shop or stall where fashionable female clothing can be bought!

Or whatever Ares thought was fashionable.

Shame that Ares didn't think to look at the fashionable boutiques that were at the Senate district. Still, Ayura followed along while Ares looked around for something feminine.

"Something sweet? I hear that's what you and the others have been up to lately while looking after the young ones," she teased lightly.

Ares saw something that seemed right...ish. Not the high class shops in the Senate district, but a gift shop with local flavor. He glanced around with a smile on his face, looking for something. "Oh, now you're spying on me?"

Ayura flushed red for a moment, before deflecting the attention away from her own embarassement. "It's hard not to hear the excited chatter of the younger ones sometimes. You'd think they were being starved back at the temple when they're talking about how much they look forward to eating when going out on these trips."

"Well.... I can't say I would say no to doughnuts now and again. A-ha!" He stopped ruffling around and pulled something out: a scarf.

He moved closer, full of trepidation and hesitation. "I wanted to buy you a gift before I leave."

Ayura looked at it in surprise at first. "... For me?" she blinked. "But... don't you have an important trip to prepare for?"

Ares smiled. "Perhaps, but.. I wanted to give you something to remember me by." He took a deep breath. I"'m anxious, and I worry what will happen, but you stand by me, and support me. That means a lot. So, I wanted to surprise you with something."

"Oh..." her face flushed in a pinkish hue. "I... I don't need anything to remember you, Ares. I mean... I love it, it's very pretty!" Ayura was a little conflicted about recieving a gift from someone she liked while also appearing humble that the Jedi tried to make her be.

"Thank you." She settled on.
