Sticky things onna stick (D1, ME)

[Mir]

Hungry again and feeling a little bit adventurous Mir headed to the markets, his nose twitching as he tried to find something to eat. His ears were perked within his cowl, alert and scanning the environment. Most people tended to give him a wide berth or at least didn't bump into him. Mir figured that the robes made him seem more important than he actually was. Then it hit him. Mir's jaw dropped a little. Fish! Or something that had once been a fish. Shuffling through the crow he spied a man - well a humanoid operating a grill with various sticks sizzling above the coals.

A small sign stapled to the grill read 'CMOH Dhblah'. With his tail swooshing beneath his robes, Mir politely askedfor a skewer.

[O'vala Aeser]

O'vala too was looking around. Inattentive as always, she ended up bumping into the other youngling as he was ordering his food. She rolled onto the ground and then hopped back up. "Whoops! Wow, this has been happening way too often. Uh, hi! Sorry!"

[Mir]

"Uh... hi?" Mir pushed the paw holding the sticky thing on a stick high into air as it was a light saber. Mostly he wanted to protect his morsel. Green. "It's alright, I'm good." he glanced upwards. His meal seemed good too.

[O'vala Aeser]

"Uh, what is that? I guess I didn't mess it up too much, huh? That's good." O'vala looked around anxiously. Why could she barely remember this cat?

[Mir]

"Sticky thing onna stick." Mir pulled his skewer into a guard position. "It's something fishy and delish." his nose twitched in anticipation. "You were there this morning. You are joining us on trials, no?" She didn't look like a master at least.

"I'm Mir."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Sticky thing? Sounds, uh, a little gross, unless you like sticky stuff in your mouth." O'vala's eyes widened and she gave an awkward cough. "Uh, yes, I'm just like you. Youngling. O'vala! That's my name, yes. Hi, nice to meet you."

[Mir]

"Ish delish." Mir explained as if he thought it obvious. "Not too sticky either. I think your stumpy teeth can handle it. Here." He gingerly pushed the white-pinkish goo dribbling with fat towards O'Vala. "Take a bite. Small. Don't try to take it all into your mouth."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Uhuh." O'vala stated at it, wondering what the sight looked like. Then she shrugged and took a bite from the tip. "Oh huh. This is kind of whacky," she said after she swallowed.

[Mir]

"Good, eh." Mir nodded, his ears flopping even as he reached to take an another bit. "I mean I have no idea where they get the fish that is in this." Not that he was entirely sure there was fish in the stick. It smelled like fish and that was good enough for Mir. That and the fact that the white-pinkish stuff was coated in grease. "So whatcha think about the trials?"

[O'vala Aeser]

"I guess it's pretty good. I'm not really sure what it is though."

O'vala licked her teeth and then shrugged. "I think the trials will go alright. I mean, we've been training all our lives for this, right?"

[Mir]

"Speak for yourself." Mir growled softly. "I've been here for four years."

[O'vala Aeser]

"Oh." O'vala shifted in her feet. "But, uh, still! Training for something for our lives!"

[Mir]

"Anyway. I don't like standing here. Do you have places to be or will you walk back with me?" Mir asked, squinting his eyes.

[O'vala Aeser]

"Uh, I guess I got nowhere to go. I've just been walking around honestly."

[Mir]

Mir tilted his head to the side. "Should we head back to the academy then?"

[O'vala Aeser]

"Uh, sure? Maybe? I dunno, wandering around sounds fun though. There's always so much to see."

[Mir]

"Do you know anything cool around here? The tauntaun girl says there's a lot to see here." Meanwhile a merchant behind then began yelling at some humpbacked lizard beast-of-burden. The language used was rather colorful.

[O'vala Aeser]

"Uh, not really! Well, I just kind of forget, sometimes. I mean, I just kind of wander and then end up hoping I can figure my way back."

[Mir]

"Uh... is that some kind of meditation?" Mir asked, rather puzzled by the green alien.

[O'vala Aeser]

O'vala knew it wasn't, but maybe it was okay to lie. "Uh, yeah, totaaaaally. It's good practice for, uh, figuring out if you know stuff. Stuff being how to get back, and other stuff."
