The Show [D1 Mid Evening, Dealer's Den, open]

Zanja wasn't deeply interested in pop music groups, but she was interested in people, and people in crowds especially. It was fun to be anonymous and watch everybody else. And FrouShyyyk's songs were all right, she supposed, if kind of... fluffy. And this might be her last chance for serious people-watching on Coruscant for a while.

She tugged on a strand of her hair, twisting it around her finger as she glanced sideways at Silas, then back at the entrance to the club and the crowd gathered around it. "I'm going to have a quick look around, see if anybody has any tickets they need to unload, before we pay the whole freight." Sometimes she'd had luck that way before. People had tickets they couldn't use, for whatever reason, or needed quick cash more. "It's not like we take up a lot of space anyway. Well, I don't."

D1 ME--Streetwise to find some cheaper tickets? Unknown difficulty, but Street Smarts would remove 1 setback.: 4eA 3 successes

"Alright!" Silas offered cheerfully as he examined the building where the concert was happening. He'd put on his least Jedish clothing, no need to stand out too much, and was pretty excited for the evening.

He had never been to a concert, and the girls in FrouShyyyk were cute. Not to mention he was here with a girl. Just the two if them to boot. Well, unless someone else showed up. "I'll wait for you here, but be careful, okay?" They didnt want to run into any trouble.

"No fear, most of this lot look like other kids anyway," Zanja reassured him with a gravelly chuckle. FrouShyyk didn't exactly draw a really hard-looking crowd. Zanja herself had left her flowing outer robe at the temple, and probably looked like a fairly ordinary Zabrak teenager in her soft gray knit bodysuit and shoulder bag.

((per GM word: D1 ME--Streetwise difficulty dice (easy): 2eD 0 successes, 2 threat

EDIT: I am dumb, that's Average difficulty. Dropping one of the two identical die results would be the simplest way to go... that leaves a total of 3 success, 1 threat.))

"If you say so." A native he might be, but Silas wasn't a expert as far as people went. While she worked he simply people watched, interested in the type of people who might like musiclike this, and what they were wearing.

Without too much difficulty, Zanja is able to find a leather-clad and tattooed human selling a pair of tickets. He thought that the band actually was FrogShit, and thought that sounded awesome.

Zanja is able to arrange a 40% discount off the door price.

Zanja made her way back through the crowd to Silas with a slouchy sort of spring in her step and flourished the ticket flimsies. "Mission accomplished," she said as she handed one to him. "There's always somebody. Anyway, that's saved us a few creds. Might still have to buy drinks, though."

Inside the Dealer's Den, music is blaring loudly along with groups of cheers and applause! On stage, the colorfully dressed members of FrouShyyyk are singing, and dancing around in their very short skirts and boots, singing about glory to the Republic, love, and how awesome it is to be in the military.

The cantina is pretty packed, standing room only, but they can still make out some vaguely familiar faces from the holonews. Probably minor celebrities and such, as all the big shots will be at the bigger concert the next day. But of course, the dazzling Nebulah Starr is there to capture the moment for the holos - or at least capture herself with the moment in the background.

"Awesome!" Silas offered with a grin, passing his share of the ticket price to Di, as they made their way toward the door. "Do you think they have non alcoholic drinks?" He asked as they entered, further conversation being cut off as he saw the spectacle in front of them.

"'Course they do," Zanja said confidently on the way in. Then she too went quiet for a few moments to take in the crowd. "Hey, it's crowded in here, isn't it? I guess they're a big deal." She squinted in the direction of the stage, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the different lighting within the club.

"Seems that way." Silas replied, his eyes on the cute girls on the stage. It'd be nice if more girls he knew wore skirts like that.

"Should we go get something to drink though?" He asked as he looked back towards Zanja. He hadn't notice Nebula Starr yet, or he would likely be staring.

"Yeah, sure." Zanja turned and began expertly slicing a weaving path through the crowds toward the bar, tossing a glance back over her shoulder to make sure she didn't lose Silas. "Hey, that news frill is even here. Starr or whatever her name is."

Silas followed after the Zabrak, she was better at this sort of thing then he, still he resisted the urge to reach out and grab her so he couldn't get lost. Even if the place was crowded. "Nebula?" He asked, pausing too look around for his favorite news anchor, maybe she would be dressed in one or her sexier suits out on the town!

"Where?" He asked after a few moments, taller he might be but Di was a lot more observant.

"Huh? Oh." Noticing Silas was no longer right behind her, Zanja doubled back to him. "Over there, see? Eleven o' clock, near the camera drone." She wasn't in the habit of drawing attention to herself by pointing, but she jerked her chin in Nebula's direction.

"Oh, that's cool!" He offered with a grin as his eyes settled on the older woman. "Do you think she will do a piece here?" He asked the rather obvious question before turning back to Di. "Let's go get those drinks, then we can try and go up front! Maybe we'll be put on the news then!" That was something they could brag about, right?

Nebula was looking into a compact mirror as she was fixing up her making, while a cameraman stood next to her on standby.

On stage, FrouShyyyk finished one of their songs to applause from the crowd, and the girl pegged as the "leader", a short blonde human, spoke into the microphone. "THANK YOU, EVERYONE! WOO!"

"You guys are the best fans, and we're FrouShyyyk - combining the pop sound of Coruscant with the drumbeats of Kashyyyk! And since you're the best fans, we wanna give you an extra chance to show how great you are!"

There were more cheers.

"These skirts are cute, but we want our own style! If you have an idea, we want to see it tomorrow, before our big gig in the Senate District, you hear?! It will be a contest!"

What!?!? That sounded super cool, and there was a shine in Silas's eyes as he looked at Zanja. It wasnt hard to imagine the boy would enter something in the contest. The question was what.

Turning back from the bar with a cup of bubbly soft drink in each hand, Zanja elbowed Silas (carefully, so as not to spill). "Hey, I think they're talking to you."

"It sounds neat doesn't it!" He offered excitedly, reaching out to take one of the cups. "Thanks."

"I'm not really good at making my own designs though, so I probably wont be picked. Still, it will be fun to give it a try."

"What do you mean? You're always making stuff." Zanja eyed the concert audience around them, many of whom--especially the young women--were dressed a lot more colorfully than she was. "They said fans, not professionals. Anyway, it's worth a try."
