The Scenic Route (D3, Early Afternoon)

There were plenty of guided tours to see in this part of Coruscant, but Farissa had contacts with the good ones, and got a small tour-cruise to drive around the district and show all the best sights. The design of the cruise allowed for lots of opportunities to see the sights, and there were even some refreshments being served.

Even Farissa had a drink of something red and bubbly for this.

Mir sat by the side, his paws clutching side of the ride as his gaze and ears darted between the various sights of the city. He had refused refreshments - somewhat suspicious of strangers. Farissa trusting the people made him feel a bit better but still he couldn't quite shake the feeling that he was being taken to a trap.

Esla was on board for the tour around the city, showing up in a black cloak over her outfit. She had ventured to the Senate district earlier on her own but the tour would give her some further context of the Senate itself other than looking like an architectural marvel. Surely, it was more than a seat of power for the many planets around the galaxy? She sat down over to a window seat as well, far less on edge than the walking cat, and accepted some coloured water as refreshments.

Zanja planted her elbows on the edge of one of the viewports and leaned out for a better look (or as close as possible, if this was a closed speeder). "Pretty fancy."

Mir glanced at Zanja, hissing in his mind. The fact that he had messed up his trial didn't help. He looked at the world all too keenly aware how little he knew about it. Shrugging to dispel his internal doubt Mir looked around to see if there was something he could distract himself with.

He spied the shorish, well dressed human. Whom he has seen at the Academy several times. Mir waved his paw at her to get her attention as he gingerly walked up to her. Luckily their ride was smooth so he didn't need to worry about his balance too much. "Hello." He was blinking his eyes to smile at her, farghul style. "So you aren't from here either? I am Mir by the way."

Esla would glance over when she spotted the waving paw and then look away, seemingly assuming that it wasn't meant for her. However, that probably was made clear when he approached her. She watched his introduction for a moment before her gaze slowly veered off toward Zanja, as she sensed some sort of horsing around between the two. Or was that how they showed friendship? After a moment, she would merely shake her head at the question

"Where're you from, then?" Zanja turned just her head away from the window, craning her neck a bit to look at Esla.

Mir tilted his head to the side, still slowly blinking his eyes. His tail swooshed slowly against the deck of their ride. I wonder if I look scary.... He bit his lips together firmly, making a point of not showing his teeth to her. Which worked only to a degree as one could hardly talk with snout closed. Though then Zanja interrupted him, causing Mir to glare in her direction for a moment though he didn't say anything. Instead he just waited to see if the quiet human would respond.

Esla gave a few blinks as she looked over to the direction of Zanja, going from one scary looking person to the next if it was actually the case that Mir suspected. She anxiously glanced back at the window and placed her gloved hands together as she seemed to deliberate on the question long enough that she answered on a reluctant note. They've admittedly cornered her. "...I'm from a planet called Centa." A place that was probably more obscure than remote.

"Centa?" Mit tilted his head to the other side. "What kind of place it is?" he asked, plopping himself down by Esla though not so close that he would brush against her. "And what was your name?"

Meanwhile, a soft toned droid-voice intoned over the comm-system. "... and to your right, you can see the Freedom Plaza and the statue commemorating the signing of the Republic constitution, signifying the birth of the Republic and the beginning of a bright new era in the galaxy where different sentients would come together to create something greater and working together towards the greater good for all sentients in the galaxy..."

While their ride was a closed one, it had a dome of transparisteel that gave a full panorama-view of Coruscant. The transparisteel seemed more to protect them from the scheduled raindrops more than anything else.

Esla was perhaps a bit at a loss at how to fully describe Centa, especially when compared to a place like Coruscant or Alderaan or any other rich world. For a while, she thought rich fertile worlds were a rarity but it seemed like there were just one of many. She merely gave Mir a faint and polite smile. "Like here, but fewer buildings and more trees."

"I'm Esla," she finally said. It seemed Mir were one of the few around who didn't know her name. Most people here seemed to have picked it up from somewhere.

She looked up when the stop was announced, trying to get a view of the Freedom Plaza. It reminded of the test from earlier and how thankful she was able to answer that question or else this moment would have been more embarrassing than impressive.

Zanja looked out again as the sightseeing stop was announced. "You got to wonder what that was like," she commented. "Imagine trying to put something that big together, and not having any idea if it was gonna work."

"It does show that where there's a will, there's a way," Farissa mused as she joined the young ones. "They wanted to create something new, a better future perhaps... and well, the rest is history I guess. And all of this." She gestured with the glass to the horizon, to all of Coruscant.

"Ah, Elsa." Mir nodded, his ears flopping. "Ooh, trees as in forests? That sounds interesting. I've never seen one, except in holovids." he blabbered happily. "Doloran only had really scrawny plants. Nothing tall and green like proper trees."

The the droid caught his attention. I wish we did this tour the other day. Would have been really helpful with the frakken exam. he frowned, his tail whooshing around and striking the floor of the vehicle rather audibly.

"So people just agreed to work together?" Mir asked Farissa. "How did they get that idea?" he tilted his head to the side, puzzled by the idea. "Not that that sounds like a bad idea. Many people could help a lotsa people."

Esla glanced off for a moment, as if hesitant if she should say something to Mir. After a moment of deliberation, she eventually found some courage to look at him once more and correct him. "It's Esla, actually..."

"We have some forests on Centra, mostly with castles and manors." She said as she glanced outside to Coruscant. While this planet also has its share of impressing architecture as well, it was perhaps more blatantly flashy in comparison. "But this place probably has more things, and a lot more people."

"Right, Esla, sorry." Mir pressed hispaw to his foreheadand squinted his eyes. "Right." His ears twitched subtly as he realized his mistake. Luckily for Mir, his fur hid his blush. "Castles and manors?" the farghul's gaze drifted to the tall towers of Coruscant before he snapped his attention back to Esla. "Are the people good and kind?" That seemed important for the jedi-to-be.

Esla gave a small nod in acceptance of his apology. Not that it was a huge deal, even if a bit of a deal, she may as well address it if she was going to talk. When asked about Centa, she rubbed her forearm conscientiously in thought. She didn't know if she would call the people good and kind nor evil and bad. Strangely enough, she probably saw more here than her years in Centa to compare. "The people are fine there if you follow the rules. And there are a lot of rules there...People seem more relaxed here."

"Guess that's more or less what they thought; many people can help lots of people. Safety in numbers and all that," she said with a contemplative nod. "Oh, and don't hesitate to enjoy the refreshements; you're being treated today by one of my friends."

With that, Farissa took a sip of her bubbly red beverage. "You think Coruscant is relaxed? Huh. I guess it is, in some ways. When you have such a big pot of different sentients, I suppose people become a bit more relaxed and tolerant in some ways... Alderaan is quite the stuck up place in comparison."

"Many rules? More than here? How?" Mir seemed to be rather confused by the idea. "I thought that the laws are the same across the Federation." His grasp of yhe whole legal system was strenuous at best. Outer Rim was lawless place - those with power also yielded the law.

"Safety against whom? The Empire?" Mir asked Farissa, blinking his eyes slowly even if he kept his gaze low.
