Day 9 - Ilum - (09.02 - 12.02)

Weather: The sun continues to rise a little higher. During mid-morning, there are times when light briefly touches the khyber crystal hanging in the main chamber of the Jedi temple. The masters are certain that tomorrow will be the day when the ice finally melts.
But it's still pretty darn cold. All checks made outside suffer two setback due to cold. At night times, that becomes three setback.
Rooms will be provided at the Jedi temple at the end of D9.

"Good morning, Ilum." Commander Dorn spoke with the same tone as he had the day before. Indeed, everything seemed the same. Pose, lighting, and of course the flag. "As we begin our tasks for the day, remember: to thrive in peace and harmony, we must be as one under the great flag of the Republic." Gravely, he saluted the camera.
After a pause, he looked down to his notes. "According to reports received, we had some excitement here yesterday. A discovery was made by Fray Landing Base personnel, and the visiting Jedi were asked to assist. As I understand, it was some sort of 'holocron', albeit in a very unique form." He shrugged. "I'm sure that if it impacts life on the base, or for the Republic in any way, the Jedi masters will inform us."
Commander Dorn gave one of his almost-smiles to the camera. "Temperatures continue to rise. Tomorrow is expected to be the warmest day of the season." His expression grew stern. "However, remember that temperatures at night remain well below freezing. I still require that all base personnel who leave the facilities dress in full cold-weather gear, even those species adapted for it. While I cannot require the same of the visiting Jedi, I nevertheless strongly recommend it."
His expression grew even more stern. "This is another reminder to cease all unauthorized games of chance, especially Pazaak. Resistance to this edict will not be tolerated." His expression softened, just a little. "This is for your own good, I assure you. A mind untroubled by thoughts of money and foolishness is an ordered mind, and an ordered mind can best serve the Republic."
The commander straightened. "This is Commander Makob Dorn, signing off. Have a pleasant day in the fulfillment of your duties."
The image faded as the new day's selection of patriotic music began to play.
