"I am Mernhu Soower, and this is Newsbright," the Ithorian reporter speaks in his usual slow tone.
"Visiting Jedi from Jedi Order on Coruscant have offered to mediate with the Killiks outside of Dewbright. The offer was made to the Dewbright City Council by representatives Master Orgus Din and Master Jaric Kaedan after arriving on the planet yesterday on the ship Dantooine's Last Hope with a group of Jedi students. Field journalist Tracer Blaster will be following the event live," Mernhu's dozy drone says.
"The delegation from the Ogon Trade Company is meeting with colony leaders today. They are expected to be discussing additional charitable giving, and the hopes of a bright future between the Ogon Trade Company and Dewbright." A bit of paper shuffling followed.
"Today, we also have a visitor in the studio." The camera shifts out, revealing a masked man dressed in black sitting opposite of the news anchor. "Lord Destrus of the Sith Empire. Welcome."
"Thank you, mister Soower. It is a warm honor to be here, to speak to the people of Auratera with you," Destrus holds out his hands as he speaks, but there is no warmth in his tone. It doesn't seem to have much humanity left in it at all. "I am, indeed, Lord Destrus of the great Sith Empire, but I first and foremost consider my self a scholar, my dear sir. And Auratera... is such a treasure trove of history and mysteries to be unlocked. To be solved. To be found."
Mernhu blinks slowly as if he's not quite understanding what is going on. "And what brings you to Auratera, lord Destrus? It is not often visitors of the Sith have openly approached the citizens here, as it has been recorded that this is not the first time your kind have been on this bright world."
"My kind?" Destrus holds a gloved hand to his chest. "Why, let's not paint with such broadstrokes. The Sith of today have evolved so much from what the galaxy as a whole saw hundreds of years ago. And even yet, we are still creatures within our chrysalis, on the brink of a great metamorphosis. And that is why we are here - on Auratera - to enrichen the very essences of our chrysalis that we must feed on as we await the glorious new dawn and rebirth. What better place than such a unique world, would you not say?" As he speaks, the Sith hands move dramatically, as if he is going through the motions of an impassioned speech before a crowd.
The Ithorian slowly nod, but befuddlement still seems to cloud his mind. "I... suppose... so." He ho-hums softly. "I'm afraid that will be all we have time for Lord Destrus. I trust you will follow the live coverage of the mediation with the Killiks on behalf of the Jedi."
"With bated breath, mister Soower."
The image fades, and music with beautiful scenery of Auratera plays for the next half hour before the weather report.
